this motor fit perfectly fine for the Arien's model 921032 100427the mounting cover needs to be grinded down 1/4 to line up 2 1/2 holes but this is super minor and took all of 2 min to complete. This model starter and Arien's unit require the removal of the flywheel housing to access the starter bolts near the flywheel.

The unit is supposed to be a JQ170-2 that fits my Airens AX291. The unit that Amazon delivered was a JQ170. The attached pictures show the tale of my problems. It took me four hours to figure out everything that needed to be removed to replace the starter and button it up. My issue with the Airens 921028 model is that the starter mounting block doesn't work, as the JQ170 is thicker than the -2 REV I needed. Out of desperation, I ground down the bracket to fit the mounting holes, but only one screw would fit as the starter button will not fit properly due to the diameter of the JQ170 starter. As the attached pictures demonstrate, the bottom line is to check the model number before doing anything. The first one, rusted screws, is the original model numbed starter that came with the unit. The third one is the one that was sent. The last one is the model number, which is the Ariens AX291. The second one is the best fit for getting out of the mess I got after four hours of work with the Rube Goldberg method.I don't know if this is an Amazon issue or a third-party vendor problem. Amazon is sending me a supposedly correct model, and I will devote another four hours to removing and replacing the incorrect starter after I verify that it is the proper REV 2.I hope it prevents others from the saga I am going through.

STARTE IS LISTED AS A DIRECT REPLACEMENT FOR MY ARIENS SNOW BLOWER BUT THE TRIM ABOVE THE STARTER HAD TO BE MODIFIED TO FIT. NO BIG DEAL AND THE MOTOR WORKS FINE.
