I use it to control a furnace humidifier and it does the job but just bare. The operating range is only about 40 degrees F and it’s hard finding a set point that works for all condition. For a fire place with fan it should work fine to control the fan because it would have a larger temperature range to work with in that application.

Easy to solve location fit with a small nylon tie. Adjusting setting was easy and best part is that it worked OK.

I used this to replace a defective one that controls the fan on my propane fireplace.I tried cheap ones on Ebay, that's why they are cheap, they are junk.this one actually turns the fan on and off, once you have the temperature set.However, it is a lot bigger than the original one.Good thing I am handy at making things work, because I had to modify the area where this controller sits.I had to cut in an access door, and rebend the mounting bracket for it.I had no choice, because the original part for my fireplace is no longer available.

Works great! Spend the extra money and get this one where you can set the temperature. The higher you set it the longer it takes for your fan to turn on and the shorter it stays on after you turn off your fireplace.👍🏼
