This is a handy refrence for people who struggle with their own emotions or those of others - so basically everyone. The physical object itself is laser-cut out of thin plywood and painted - ours smelled really strongly of paint for the first few days, it might not be a bad idea to let this air out outdoors or at least with the windows open.

I really like this feelings wheel! I use it with my older students who sometimes have conflicts with one another. I have the students identify their overall feeling (starting from the centre of the wheel), and together, we branch out and try to narrow down the feelings in order to get to the heart of the real issue. For instance, one student came to me saying that she was feeling "sad". We looked at the feelings that extended from the sad portion of the circle, and from there, she decided that felt "lonely" the most out of all the feelings. When I talked to her a bit more, it was revealed that she felt "abandoned" due to one of her friends seeking out a new group of friends, leaving her by herself. We were able to talk about this to get a clearer picture of what to do and how she felt this way, which would not have been the case if she had just stuck to feeling "sad". This has been a helpful wheel, and it helps give students the words when they are often unsure of what the true emotion is and helps them to break down feelings into more specific ones.
