I am not a reader, so when I started reading the first of the set I was surprised that I was unable to put it down. I struggled terribly all through high school (which was back in the 70's)...lol with reading. But this book held my interest and was very easy to read. For someone who is used to reading a lot of good written books, they would probably not like this book just by the way it is written. You can tell the writer is very inexperienced with writing, as it is pretty simplified reading. But the story line I like and I can seem to put them down. I started the first book back in Feb, I have finished it, finished the second one and have half of the last one to read. Definately far fetched, but who doesn't like some fantasy in their life! :-)

These three books were great to read. It keeps you intrigued all the way through. Please note that these books are very explicit in the sex scenes so if you can handle that, you'll like the book. I must say, I learned alot. :)

I have read the complete Fifty Shades Trilogy and enjoyed every book. The so-called "mommie porn" label given one or two of the books by some people does not really represent the author's intent. It is by far a beautiful love story with many amusing moments and while it has it's erotic content those moments are between two consenting adults and are not really offensive given the full story. In fact the books are written from the woman's point of view and I understand another book is being written from the gentleman's point of view. Look forward to that one too.

Sometimes you just have to go for it for yourself. I had bought the first book of this series on 5/30/2012. I am a fast reader and knew that this book would be read by sometime Thursday night or Friday morning and I was right. I went to the reviews for Fifty Shades Darker and some people were just bashing the book and the series. I love classics just like anyone else but I had already read most of the first one and was trying to decide if I should buy the second and I was so put off by the bad reviews that I almost didn't purchase it.Let me start off by saying that I have never read this type of book before ever and I am 42 years old. I am more the historical, documentary and criminal mystery type but seeing and hearing everyone talking about the book, I became intrigued. They asked Michelle Obama about it, they began pulling it from libraries because of the sexual content and it was also being displayed front and center in my favorite Japanese bookstore and I said to myself, "Self, see what all the fuss is about." Boy am I glad that I did!Maybe it's because I am not a fantasy, love story type and, therefore, have never read a book like this before but I loved the series. It is now 6/4/2012 and I have read all three within 5 days. I have to tell you, I felt a lot for the characters, I was rooting for some, cursing at others, I teared up at other times and, quite frankly, I didn't want the books to end. I understood Christian Grey, I felt for Christian Grey and I loved the way these books showed his break down process and his progress. His humanity is what I connected to almost as much as being the naive wide eyed and bushy-tailed Anastasia. I've met Christian Greys and I was Anastasia. Sometimes two extreme types have to meet in order to take us from those extreme left or right sides and bring us to the middle or to strike a balance. Honestly, after a while, I didn't even care about the sexual scenes but about the characters and where they were headed.Like I stated in the title, this is not a literary classic. It certainly could have been edited better and I would have preferred it to not be so repetitive but this is her style of writing. I don't read too many British authors so I have nothing to compare it to. I looked past the bad writing and looked to the story and I found it to be fabulously fun and quick paced. I truly didn't want this to end. Hopefully, she can make a series from Christian's perspective because I love the end of the book where she started to show his view. I hope she is just prepping us for what is to come.Read all three books because it is a continuous storyline and just let yourself escape. Don't take it too seriously and have a good time. I found that I read too many serious things and this was a welcome break for me. I will try another fantasy/erotic/love story sometime in the future. Don't take it too seriously and take it for what it is (and I am quoting from other reviewers): Literary Crack!! I hope this helps!!

After you get over the "Shock" of all the Sexual Content... the story lines are ok... but very predictable. (I say Shock but really it is not that bad... a little more descriptive than a Harlequin... But not that far off.) The Second and Third Book is just more of the same thing... over and over... gets kind of redundant after awhile... and again very predictable. I did like Ana's alter egos, it was an interesting way of seeing what she was thinking and the process of her battling her own demons etc... The books were easy to read which is a good thing in my mind.

I had read the first book (a borrowed one) quite fast as my sister wanted it back, but after reading it, I immediately went online to pick up the three of them. I also wanted to take my time reading them, as I don't often get free time to do so. The second book was so good, I avoided reading the third so I could take it on vacation with me.It is REALLY good. Imagine my surprise when I got to Costa Rica and the books were on the store shelves, in English. There were three girls around the pool reading it also. Some of the things that Christian and Anastasia do are a little out there for me, but the feeling you get reading about their sexual habits is not anything I expected. I am a little older now, but it took me back a few years to some pretty fun times, with partners I cared about enough to experiment with. And the love they have for each other is something most of us can only dream of.I have heard that this series is being looked at for film....might I suggest the guy that plays the Mentalist (he was also in The Devil Wears Prada), SIMON BAKER. He has that sexy, yet boyish look to him, with a few sly, and shy smiles. He has the Red-ish/Blonde unkempt look to his hair. He looks incredible in jean and a shirt, as well as a suit. BUT,he is also VERY GOOD LOOKING WHEN HIS CLOTHES ARE REMOVED!!!, not to mention and incredible actor, someone you don't want to take your eyes off of.I can't wait to finish the books now that I am home, and I am sure that after Xmas, I just may read them again...no leaning these ones out, they can get their own...!!! ;) .....K
