I bought this as my daughter’s Christmas present from Santa. She opened it on December 25th and got to play with it until December 30th, so five days after opening it and it already had rips in it.This product was expensive and I am very disappointed that after less than a week it has already ripped. Regardless of the price this should have lasted much longer then five days

I am adding an update. The company that makes the dance mats contacted me regarding sending a replacement mat. I said sure and told them I would update my review if the dance mat worked as advertised. the 3rd dance mat arrived this weekend and it works as promised. It is such a fun mat when it works properly. So, third time lucky, and I'm very impressed that the selling company took notice of my review and did something about it. I am completely satisfied now. And my grandkids will have a blast with this thing. Thank you!!I purchased the first one and the only sound we got was static. No music or beat, or English speaking instructions. Just static. The lights worked and the buttons responded to being pressed but no sound besides loud static. My grandkids were pretty disappointed so I returned the defective mat, which was very easy, and decided to order another one thinking it was a lemon. All the reviews for this product were/are excellent, and there was only one that stated the issue that we were having.We received the second mat and the same problem persists. We can faintly hear some English instructions, and some music/beat, but mostly just static. Then after about a minute, all other sound fades away, washed out by the loud static. Very disappointed. I know this was not the most expensive version of this type of toy, but it wasn't the cheapest either. $100 is pretty pricey. Anyway, I can't recommend the toy, but you won't have a problem returning it and getting your money back, if you decide to take a chance and order it.

Opened and played with for an approximately 30minutes by a 4 year old .Mat ripped within that time frame. Not worth the money.

My 5-year-old niece loves this! I love that it gets her off her tablet and moving, plus we connect my phone to it and she can dance to any song we like. I don't love that the dance steps don't really sync up with the music, unfortunately, hence the one star knocked off. Also, my neck hurts from looking down to see where to step.The instructions were written very poorly, so it intimidated me, but once you get the batteries in and start up, you barely need the instructions.

my 4 year old, above average inteligence, cannot use the mat. Neither can I (age 62) it seems to be difficult to use overall, but rating it for age 3 and up is definitely NOT accurate. (of note, my granddaughter knew all of her alphabet by recognition and her numbers at age 2- 2.5) she dances and her coordination in average for her age. just disappointing.

I thought my three year old would like this, but it's a little tricky to operate for her. I've seen dance mats where you stand in the middle and have to touch other areas of the mat that light up. This mat makes you stand off the mat and then step onto the mat to touch the items that light up, which seems harder. It does have adjustments for levels. She didn't like it but maybe it will grow on her.

I would have given this a five star rating, but I bought this as a gift for Christmas, which has not yet arrived. Waiting to see how well it holds up after use by two little girls, ages 2 1/2 and 5. The mat appears to be very well made and colorful, so I think the girls will like it. Also, it seems to be easy to clean, just wipe with a damp cloth. Time will tell if this was a great purchase.
