I ordered this for my 10 year old to use while he uses his oculus. He struggles sometimes with staying in his "boundaries" and not hitting the wall/furniture. This mat has helped him "feel" his area. It's a good size for him and works well on his carpet or on our tiled floor. I love that it's easy enough to fold up and put under his bed or in his closet, as well. I was a little off put by the price at first, but honestly this is something that has gotten a LOT of use and is good quality.

Let me start by saying this stays in place on my hardwood floors. Assuming I don't wear shoes. If you wear shoes with grip on them, the torque is going to cause the mat to move around a bit. This is a physics thing. Grip on grip is going to cause something to give. And it's going to apply to any mat. So I'd recommend socks or going barefoot. On my flooring it holds its place extremely well if I'm barefoot or in socks.I like that it folds up neatly and doesn't take a lot of storage space. Bonus points for the included storage bag.I don't feel like the special indentations add anything of use, but I still like that there are creases that allow it to fold easily.I think it's a good looking mat that accomplishes the goal its designed for. It keeps me centered in the room and away from hazards.

The mat feels sturdy enough, and it generally stays put on my hardwood floor. I can't speak for how it would perform on carpet, but I'm sure results will vary depending on carpet height, material, etc., as well as the particular games you're playing. The bottom/black side is very slightly grippier, but any mat is likely to move around if you're really active on top (such has been my experience with dance gamepads).In use, the mat does its job, offering physical cues to keep you inbounds. The mat has indentations that theoretically could help with directional orientation, but I didn't find them particularly useful. There are so many other ridges (running between each of the mat's nine panels) that my feet can't quickly find any specific marker(s) during gameplay. For me, it mostly boils down to being on-mat or off-mat, but that's still helpful to avoid wandering into things.All in all, I'm satisfied with this VR mat. The foldable design is convenient, and a fabric storage pouch is included. The materials seem decent, but time will tell how they hold up. I'll update if there are any surprises.

I have a 12 year old that tends to get a bit aggressive with the Oculus and ends up exploring the room a bit more than she should. This mat is a great way to keep her centered in a reasonable area and it does the job perfectly. It's only a bit over 3 feet in diameter, but assuming you keep one foot in the ring gives you a working space of more than 6 feet in diameter and you know to move back to center. I also like that it folds ups and tucks away into a very small space and the mat itself appears to be good quality and will hold up under use. The only issue I have is regarding value for the price. If this mat was half the price, it would be an easy 5 star review.
