Did not make it through a record low snow winter. By the end of last winter my snowblower was making all kinds of noise when in drive. I ended up storing it that way for the summer and got a quick reminder of the problem on first use. Took a look and the friction wheel rubber was toast…completely worn down to the rim. Rubber shreds and bits everywhere. This time I got a MTD part at the local repair shop…noticeable difference in the density of the rubber.If you only clear a small area once or twice a year this will last you a few seasons. If you’re in snow country don’t expect good mileage. I keep records of snow removal and estimate about I got about 6 hours before this part failed.
