I’ve been using this paddle since November 2024. I wanted to upgrade from a beginner’s paddle. It truly was a game changer. The paddle surface helped in my top spin improvement. The paddle’s weight allowed me to maneuver easily without arm fatigue even after playing for over 2 hours. I’m impressed at the quality of this paddle at this price point. I’m very happy with this purchase.

Good paddle for the price. Hits well and has good grip. The handle is just right for me.

This is a well-made high quality paddle with desirable thermoformed edges and foam injected walls which makes for great stability. I find the 16.5 inch length, 7.5 inch width ideal. The long handle is a plus too and the grip is good. What impresses me the most is how well-balanced and stable it is, along with a large sweet spot. It also provides amazing control and has good power. The T 700 carbon fiber surface is not the most gritty for maximum spin, but has enough grit to generate plenty of spin nevertheless. In short, I like this paddle better than more expensive T 700 carbon fiber paddles I’ve tried.. It’s definitely upped my game. FOLLOW UP 9/10/24 - I’ve been using this paddle for awhile now and am completely happy with it.

I was in Florida last week and I played pickle ball four days straight for two hours a day with this new paddle. The paddle felt great and light in my hand, and they felt like I played the game a lot better as there was no friction on my paddle. I was able to control the ball better and it helped improve my game. This paddle is pretty impressive. I’ve been recommending it to my friends. And for the price point, you just can’t beat it. It comes with a nice sleeve and three different bands for when the Bands get old and dirty you could always change them on the bottom of the paddle. Garye is a very good company. This product is made of good quality. I highly recommend this and it is definitely a five star product. FYI - I am not a beginner, but I am also not a pro. I just play the game to compete with friends. Pickle Ball is truly a fun sport and this paddle keeps you in the game. Good luck to all.

This is a nice choice at middling price point if you are fairly new to the game and want a better-quality paddle than the 2/4-pack of fiberglass-faced paddles that many of us bought. It has a larger sweet spot and better touch than my old paddle, not that it magically transformed my noobie-69-year-old game. This choice also didn’t make me self conscious that I was buying an expensive name-brand paddle that was inappropriate for my game and for who I am playing with. If Garye makes a next-level paddle when I feel that my game has advanced, I would absolutely give it a look. I have zero regrets, and gave it four stars just because I don’t feel that I am qualified to justify five stars, even at this price.Update on 11/29/2024: I have played with this paddle for three months, typically 2-2.5 hours per session, three times a week. It remains a solid choice, even though I keep fantasizing about getting another paddle to somehow, magically improve my game. Around a month ago, I added old-school Tournagrip blue tennis wrap directly atop the original grip, and I added a pre-cut 3 gm lead tape to each side just below the name on the edge guard to open up the sweet spot. Both additions made the paddle slight “better” in my hands.Update on 1/12/2025: I just upgraded my paddle to a Six Zero Double Black Diamond (16mm), and that change compels me to update my review of the Garye XL. The DBD is a more refined all-court paddle, as it should be at more than triple the price of the Garye. I now recognize that the Garye is a bit head heavy, despite the six grams of lead tape that I added to enlarge the sweet spot and lower the swing weight (both slight but perceptible). IMO, the Garye is primarily a power paddle, although it does have decent control and touch at the kitchen. It is important to hit the sweet spot, the Garye can be somewhat unforgiving of off-center shots. Simultaneously, you will harness is a bunch of power if you stroke the ball well and the ball is in the sweet spot. For the money, especially when it is available at or below $50, the Garye is an excellent buy for a thermoformed carbon-fiber paddle with edge foam and a Toray 700 raw-carbon fiber face. Folks new to most any thermoformed paddle will need to play their paddle a few times to get used to the power, pop, and spin capability. The Garye XL’s elongated paddle shape is preferred by a lot of higher-level players, but the dimensional differences between the XL shape and conventional shape (or hybrid shape such as the DBD) are typically only a couple of millimeters and IMO seems unlikely to matter to 3.5 and lower skill levels. In summary, the Garye XL is probably a 4.5-star paddle choice (losing 0.5 star for the head weight), and it is very hard to beat this paddle at this price point and up to around $75-100. The Garye paddle is also subtle and classy in appearance, unlike the somewhat tacky-looking starter paddles one too often sees on Amazon - get one and be happy!
