I wanted a slightly thicker pad for side sleeping and big enough so my pillow does not fall off the pad. This works great, packs small enough for hiking and is light enough to take along on most hiking trips.

I purchased this sleeping pad back in 2022 and have now used it on many camping trips across all seasons. It is a great piece of gear, and has been durable as well as comfortable. Takes a few minutes to inflate but I set up other stuff around camp while it's filling. You can top off with a few breaths if you want firmer sleep. Packing is also simple. My most recent trip was car camping, and the tent site was quite rocky. The Gear Doctor pad really helped sitting on tent floor and tarp. Plus, it was unseasonably chilly and the pad kept me nice and warm under my sleeping bag. I am 6 ft, 180lbs, and it's plenty big. I tend to leave it slightly under inflated so it won't slide and is a bit more comfortable. It's been stomped on, tossed around, stuff dropped on it, and never any issues. It's extremely light, but a little bulky for REALLY ultra-light backpacking. Takes up a decent portion of my 40 liter pack. That said, it works great and beats sleeping on the ground or the thin "yoga mat" style pads.I've been very happy with the Gear Doctors sleeping pad long-term and feel good knowing it has a lifetime warranty. If you're considering it, go for it.

This air bed fits perfectly. Quick inflation with included pump bag. It looks like high quality material, light and packs down to fit your pack. Works perfect for campingEdit. Seems to have a small undectable leak. It stays inflated for the night ok but needs the air topped up each night if camping for the weekend.

As someone who personally does not like camping that much, this product made it easy to set up my tent and tear it down which made my camping very tolerable. No need for those loud air mattress blowersblasting in your ear. It did self inflate quite well but I did blow in it (like 2 -3 times) just to make it a little bit thicker for comfort. I do recommend a (small) pillow if you are used to sleeping with one but I didn't have much issues sleeping without it. It has also fit into my 1 person sized tent leaving me with plenty of space to store my bags and whatnot.During camping we had very hot days and very stormy nights. I did not feel too hot or too cold during these times. I did have a sleeping bag with a zipper and that helped me adjust to the perfect temperature to fall asleep to. If you roll around a lot during your sleeps or naps (like me) I would say find something bigger but I just adapted to flipping instead of rolling and it was still fine. Also great if your just chilling with your phone out reading articles or ebooks. Have never felt uncomfortable with the large amounts of time I've spent on it. I kind of like semi hard or tough surfaces to it was nice. This is great if you want to pack light and quick. Not much to say but this will be my essential item to bring whenever I go camping with my family and friends again.

Used for the first time on a 13 day hike along the 230k Larapinta trail. It could be a little wider as you can roll off the mat unless on a completely level surface. When you move your body position it is quite noisy. I did have complaints from other camping members regarding the noise so had to camp some distance away. I would not have purchased if I knew how noisy it was.

I'll start with the downsides. Because it's thick, when you have this pad rolled up in your backpack, it takes up quite a lot of space, and it's awkwardly thick to attach to the outside of your bag. I'd recommend having a 50L backpack at the bare minimum, and preferably 65L+. Anything less than 50L and you will struggle to fit everything you need. It's slightly narrower than ideal for a side sleeper to keep your arms on it, but it's manageable.Apart from those things, this mat is very good. It's warm, it's thick, it's comfortable, it's easy to inflate. It will keep you warm and protected in four seasons of weather. If you have a big backpack and are a back sleeper, this will be perfect for you. If you're a side sleeper it's still worth it as a winter pad, but you might want to get a thinner, wider pad for warmer camps.

This is a really well made and comfortable mat. It self inflates within minutes and if you prefer you can just add a bit more sturdiness by blowing a few breaths of air into the nozzle. I was camping in the Cairngorms last week in winter conditions and have used various other mats made by other companies in similar situations but none of them kept me as warm in my sleeping bag as my Gear Doctors one.The actual owner of the family based company Mike has personally contacted me for my opinion of his product and asked if I have had any problems with it which I haven't but was told by him that if there happened to be in the future he assured me that he has given all of his products a warranty that he will stand by 100%I have purchased many products from numerous sellers and have never been notified personally by the owner of the company and to me that speaks volumes of how much pride he takes in both the quality of his work and the opinion and aftercare of his customers.I have already been recommendingGear Doctors to some of my climbingcolleagues.

Iโ€™m 6โ€™4โ€ tall, around 225 with broad shoulders. I searched all over, watched reviews, compared prices, and this pad stood out from the rest for its R value, compact storage size, and price.I was looking for a 3-4 season compact pad for backcountry camping in Canada that was not ridiculously expensive. This pad is a little short for my height, and just fits my shoulder width, but i fully expected that from the advertised dimensions and if anything it seems a little bigger than I expected. The parts of you that contact the ground when laying flat on your back are a little less than your full height and width. Most things arenโ€™t designed for a person my size.I received the sleeping pad a few weeks ago, inflated it and have kept it inflated as they recommend ever since. Slept on it a few times in the basement to test it out. My thoughts so far:Pros:Comfort. Much better than any air mattress Iโ€™ve slept on, I believe due to the insulating foam.Warmth, again better than any air mattress due to the foam.Compact size and weight, I got it for backpacking and based on my testing I believe it will work great.Price, much better than most sleeping pads with similar R values.Quality. Seems to be high quality for a great price. My toddler jumped all over it and it held my 225lbs with no issue, did not deflate and no part of me touched the ground or even felt like it came close.Cons:Size. This isnโ€™t really a con, the size is as advertised and with me sleeping high with a pillow just above and on the top it works for me. I imagine if I moved around a lot in my sleep I could slide off but I generally donโ€™t.Iโ€™m taking it camping soon and will update my review if I run into any issues but based on my testing I expect it to perform well.Update: Worked great camping, definitely recommend.
