After looking closely at a bunch of variations of this same wire gauge on Amazon, I realized most of them were just trying to copy this one. Yes, this one is more expensive, but it is clearly the best one. It is well made trustworthy and reliable. Glad I did not buy one of the other cheap copies.

I have both this and the Starrett. Yes the Starrett is super high quality. This product is made in India(not USA as pictured) and there are a few shortcuts in the finish but it is very accurate and when I compare it with the Starrett --- it is measures the the equal considering one's level of error in my measuring with a high precision caliper.I reach for this one first just because it is easier to read due to its brighter finish. The Starrett remains clearly better made and is its usual masterpiece but the General tool is well made and very accurate.
