This comes with a relatively well put together manual with a lot of details and information-- but the settings informations eems to be geared towards the specific CNC machine this company makes. That's all fine, but do be aware that it takes some trial and error to nail down the settings if you are using a different setup. While I have a CNC and this seems sturdy enough for milling wood on that (good chuck with no play, good alignment, lots of places to bolt down the base)-- my main use is for my fiber laser as a rotary axis. I did not realize that this was a closed loop stepper (and it looks like the driver is built into the end of the motor based on the circuit board labels), but if you wire into the 4 wires coming directly out of the stepper motor, you can treat this as any other normal 4-wire stepper motor setup.Overall, the closed loop stepper bit and the manual being machine specific (for settings) were minor hiccups I did not anticipate-- but I'm happy with the setup. It's well made, spins smoothly, is sturdy, and was easy enough to integrate into my system with a normal stepper driver.

I picked up the Genmitsu Rotary Module Kit for my Prover XL 4030 V2, and it’s been a fantastic upgrade. The NEMA23 stepper with the 10:1 planetary gear reducer delivers great torque and control, and the 4-jaw chuck grips material securely. I was able to dial in cylindrical engraving projects with solid accuracy. Setup was pretty straightforward, and the clamping range (15–275mm) covers most of what I work with. It's definitely built well and feels durable. If you're into rotary engraving or need precise rotational control for your CNC, this is a worthy addition to the toolkit.

This is a gorgeous looking assembly that will be a welcome and sought-after upgrade, adding a rotary axis to your CNC machine. It is manufactured with good precision using proper materials and parts, and features a powerful Nema-23 stepper motor coupled to a planetary type gearbox. I love the miniature chuck that has four reversible jaws, just like those on a full-scale lathe. When reversed, the jaws allow clamping a stock piece up to 80 mm in diameter between their stair-stepped protrusions. Using tailstock support is a really good idea in that case. The absolute maximum diameter of stock that will fit in this rotary axis assembly appears to be 100 mm. With that diameter of course, it will rub and jam on the base, so in reality it should not exceed 95 mm, in my estimation. The tailstock has bearings inside it, and its pointed shaft is able to rotate with the stock piece it is supporting. This is a nice feature, as there are versions of tailstock on the market that are static. The base has pre-drilled threaded holes in it allowing the tailstock to be re-positioned. I wish there were more such holes closer to the chuck. As is, the minimum stock length that may be clamped by the tailstock reliably is about 4" (100 mm).Two issues I am hoping could be improved on this otherwise perfect assembly. First, the locking screw on the tailstock would better be positioned on the side facing the operator. And second, there is about half a degree rotational play present at the chuck - this will result in movement of 0.3 mm on the surface of stock piece that is 70 mm in diameter. I wish I knew how to tighten up that play.
