My old hardened steel hotend had over 4000 hours on it and was starting to show it's wear so I needed a replacement. I have tried many of the aftermarket hotends, most with swappable nozzles, and always have issues with them clogging or leaking.This hotend certainly appears to be the real deal. It looks just like an OEM hotend down to the branding and included supplies. The only real difference is that the packaging is different from how BambLab packages it indicating this may be a reboxed item. It didn't appear used at all so it could just be a repackaged item.Shipping was very fast, which I appreciate and really is the only reason I would ever recommend somebody to purchase this. Any time I order from Bambu directly it usually takes several days to a week to arrive while this came very quickly. If you need a hotend immediately (to fulfill customer orders, for example) then maybe consider this as an option otherwise I would just go OEM. You could almost buy 3 OEM hotends for the cost of this one (4 if there's a sale on).

Although this hotend kit is sold by 3DTools it appears to be an original Bambu Lab hotend with all of the OEM markings found on kits received directly from Bambu Lab. Fit and function are exactly as expected for a factory part, and although I have tried aftermarket models with replaceable nozzles, there is something to be said for the simplicity of the fixed nozzle factory design. It's just so much easier to change the nozzle assembly than to fiddle with nozzle replacements and occasional oozing if it isn't seated well enough. Additionally, flow rates are already tuned properly for filaments that have a profile whereas aftermarket hotends with different nozzles may not perform as well without some tuning.Now for my concerns. At the time of this review, the price for this hotend offered by 3DTools is twice the price that it is offered for directly from Bambu and is actually about $5.00 more than a complete hotend that includes the hotend cooling fan and heater assembly. I must admit that I am puzzled by the pricing and hopefully the current price is a typo that will be corrected. Having an option to purchase through Amazon with fast US based shipping would definitely be appreciated, but the pricing as it stands is an issue. Unfortunately, I have to take a star off for the inflated price over factory direct pricing. Price aside it's a perfect OEM part.
