This is not like a dance dance revolution pad, because the middle spot counts as a button. The buttons are very sensitive and you have to step off the pad between each step or you will accidentally press the wrong buttons. My 6 year old has figured this out and has a ton of fun with it still. My 4 year old who I bought it for has not yet got the hang of it and so does not like it very much. So I would say this is 5 stars for my 6 year old, but not recommended for any younger than that.

I thought the pad lit up so the children could step on a light like a twister game. I was mistaken and only lights in front of what figure to step on.

For a 5-6 year old girl, this was a great gift! She loves it. Just know that one of the squares doesnโt make sound. Itโs not broken. Thereโs just less notes on a musical scale than there are squares.

Seriously so annoying lol bought for my daughter by grandparents for Christmas, so we've had it almost a year. Still works just fine, haven't had to change the batteries once. Easy for her to use (she's 5) and she loves playing with it. Only a few song choices so that's kinda lame, but she likes the "play your own tune" setting. It's very loud so I put tape over the speaker to make it quieter. She'll be sad when it dies, but I sure wouldn't buy her a new one lol

I bought this for my granddaughters Christmas present. I expect her to have alot of fun with it. Her brother and sister will enjoy it with her. I just hope she likes the music.

Nice looking dance mat. It comes with some nice stickers and the instruction manual. This mat requires AAA batteries to work and doesnโt come with any batteries. Once installed, the plastic top lights up to show what symbols need to be stepped on to win and move on to the next level. Thereโs also a freestyle note playing level. Very nice and fun activity dance mat for children.

If you need something fun to do inside during the cold time of year this is perfect make sure you have a solid ground either tile or concrete or wooden to be able to set this up so that it doesn't fly around when they're jumping on it it may not stay in places nicely on carpet. It's a really fun activity it's bright and colorful and keeps their attention for quite a while you can grab a couple of these mats and have a dance party with your kids indoors.

We ordered this for your granddaughter aged 5. There are dozens of similar Dance Mats on Amazon, the primary reason for selecting this one was the $52 price tag and Unicorn theme. Most other similar mats were $65-$67 and had other themes.I must admit I had pretty low expectations but was pleasantly surprised by the function and play value of this mat. The mat comes rolled up in a box. It requires 3 AA batteries which are not included and a small phillips screwdriver. They should include a small screwdriver in the package or change the way the battery door compartment latches ... some purchasers of this mat may not have a small screwdriver on hand and without it and batteries .. No Dance Party.Once you get the batteries installed you are ready to go. The operation is pretty intuitive and an instruction booklet is included. There are 5 game modes from easy to hard. I thought the higher the game mode number, the more difficult the dance pattern but that's not the case. The game modes are not sequential and do not correspond to difficult levels like in a video game or Dance Dance Revolution. The game numbers are random. Level or Game mode 4 for example is easier than 2 or 3.Our granddaughter, her brother and friends caught on quickly and loved this dance mat. You can play buy yourself or have dance parties and competitions.Overall the quality is this dance mat is good and much better than I expected. It works best on Hard Surface floors and doesn't do well on carpet. With some care and attention it should last as long as your kids show interest. This dance pad is fun and a good source of activity. It plays like a video game but is much more active than just pushing buttons on a controller. While the dance mat is intended for kids, us adults play it too.I would recommend this dance mat and would buy it again. Very giftable and the best price I've found on Amazon. The Unicorn theme is a hit with our kids although you can find the same mat sold with different themes on Amazon.
