This is an attractive and sturdy pen holder. It's made from resin but it looks and feels like it's made from metal. I was surpised by it's hefty weight and sturdy construction. This is the polar opposite from those lightweight, flimsy plastic pen holders you come across in stores. This has a solid and timeless feel to it. It would make a nice gift for the home office, particularly to anyone who values high quality stationary supplies.The weight works to its advatange as it's able to accomodate a good quantity of items, not just pens and pencils, without tipping over. I am easily able to fit my mini flashlight, thermometer, mini stapler, and a few pens. With all these items, it sits securely on my desk. The design looks look and it will be suitable in any office space or home. On the downside, it is a bit pricey for something so simple. However, the quality of material is there and it does its just really well. Full marks from me!

This pen holder is very well made. The details of the countries are good and the material is pretty sturdy as long as not dropping or throwing. It is a bit on the heavy side when comes to a pen holder but I really do think this makes an amazing gift for my boy who loves the map and all the geographic details!

Love this little globe holder, it'd make a great gift for any traveller, teacher, geography nerd, or even just someone who likes globes or novelty holders. I’ve always wanted a pretty globe, but don’t have the space for it, this always makes me smile seeing it on my desk. I use a ton of ‘pencil’ holders for various tools in my craft room.This is ceramic, well-moulded and mine was flawless. I like that the inside is not rounded so you don’t lose space to pens or small items sliding to the side, it’s actually a ‘cup’ shape cut out inside the globe. Absolutely no complaints, it’s a really neat item!

My intial thought, and I think anyone could understand this idea, is that $30 is pretty expensive for a desktop pen holder/organizer thing. There are a couple of points that can defend this somewhat though. When I first opened this up, I thought maybe it was pottery or ceramic due to the weight and feel, but on closer inspection, it's actually cast from resin, but is surprisingly heavy for a resin item. That shows it is durable, because it's thick and strong. Also, even though the base is narrower than the main body, it is not "tippy" at all. It would take a serious hit to knock this thing over. The base might even be weighted, I'm not sure.The color is really excellent, with the blue of the oceans being uniform and bright, and the silver of the continents being again, uniform and nicely shiny without being reflective. All of the relief edges are crisp and well defined, and there is no bleeding of colors. All lines and characters are sharp and clear, basically the overall quality is excellent.This doesn't really change my feeling that this is a bit pricey, but it IS interesting and a little unique. It makes for a nice desktop decoration that has a practical purpose, and being well made and feeling incredibly durable, if you're looking for something like this but with a little more flair than a boring rectangle of thin plastic, well this will work well and look good doing it.
