the 1 inch and 3/4 inch have worked GREAT since day one and continue to work as they should. The 1/2 inch, is NO good. i do not understand how it could come from Greenlee and not work at all. something very defective in the 1/2 inch hole saw.

Bits will chip and break over time. Been a year and I've already chipped the 1" and broken one pilot bit. However they're great for what they do. Perfect hole every time.

Absolutely awesome performance - Cuts mild steel sheet without a problem. Chips and clears chips well. Nice finish to the cut. Used in electrical enclosures. Outlasts holesaws 10 to 1.

These speed cutters lasted me about 30 holes each until the1-1/8" and 7/8" bit got completely shredded drilling through only some mid gauge steel stud (which is completely within the specs of 8 gauge). I used the 1-3/8" bit on the same studs and didn't have a problem and is still in good shape so it seems like it was possibly a bad batch or something. To say the least, I am disappointed with Greenlee since they usually carry good quality tools (not in this case), but it seems like more and more brands these days are shipping manufacturing overseas to China to save a few bucks while compromising quality.I will contact seller and update review if I hear back on refund or replace

I have only been using this set for one day and will come back after several months and write a supplement to this review. Based on heavy usage of this entire set for a solid day cutting thick sheet metal, it is outstanding. The headline to this review says it. It is truly like cutting through butter with a hot knife when using these on sheet metal.

I had to cut 1-1/8" holes in a 14 gauge stainless steel box (about 1.9mm thick). First I tried a Bosch bi-metal bit and it barely scratched the metal before it was toasted. The Greenlee kit looked like a good solution. It is expensive but these are handy diameters for electrical conduit (1/2", 3/4" & 1"). The bits seem to be very high quality. There is a plastic case that protects the bits and has a recommended speed chart. The chart recommended 375 RPM for stainless. I had to cut at 620 because that's the lowest on my drill press. I went slow and used lots of cutting fluid. It took a while but it made a clean hole and the bit still looks new. The spring on the bit worked well to eject the metal donut after the cut. The maximum cutting depth is 8 gauge (4mm). The kit includes the 3 hole cutters, an extra pilot drill and a hex key.
