I'm really impressed with the build quality of this Wren birdhouse. We live in an area with lots of great Carolina Wren habitat, and with all the food we provide, we have no shortage of breeding pairs. One behavior that we've noticed about Wrens is that they are prolific nest builders. We're constantly finding partially built nest everywhere you can imagine. My tool belt was particularly funny. As was a bandana that I hung up on the post of our back deck. In fact, once winter set in we noticed that one pair started using it as a night time retreat. So I lined it with soft felt and they now use it regularly. Every evening we see them retire...they are so darn cute!At any rate, this bird house is going to be great once nesting season starts in a few months. It's made from quality cedar, and I can confirm that by the sweet cedars smell. Each of the pieces has been cut and assembled without any gaps, split wood, or other imperfections. The hole diameter (1-1/8") is the correct size for Wrens. I know I could build something like this myself, and normally would. But the price for this bird house is so very affordable, and as I already said but will say again, the quality is first rate. As good as I could have done!Just a few quick notes. It has a clean-out panel for removing old nests. And while the house comes with a thick suspension cable, I don't know what Wrens will think of that. I'll probably leave it suspended at first. But if I see them checking out the box, but not committing, I'll probably screw it to a post for a more secure attachment. Either way, alway be sure to protect against critters invading with a post baffle or similar. Nothing worse than see a productive nest destroyed by vermin.If you're thinking of hanging a bird house this year for Wrens or other birds that favor a box of this build spec, you will not be disappointed with this product. It is simply OUTSTANDING! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
