It’s fairly loud but does cool off the room well. It says you don’t need to empty the water out but i keep needing to. Not sure if that’s normal or just misleading advertisement

Update to my original posting. We did a lot of reading and research and settled on this AC unit.A lot of individuals wrote about the noise. We have a small apartment and placed this unit in our bedroom. Because we always have background noise [regular fan on at night...even in winter], we found this unit noise level to be be satisfactory [other individuals may not]. The unit is on my side of the room. It is not distracting. It does not keep up at night. The AC unit cools the bedroom down nicely. It does not reach (and wouldn't expect it too] our living room / kitchen. We have placed a few regular fans to draw out the cool air from the bedroom to the living room / kitchen. Our deck can reach 108 degrees in the sun, the bedroom with the AC unit is about 70 - 73 degrees and the living room / kitchen is about 80. We find "all" areas comfortable. Even reading at 80 the cool via the fans makes it feel "not" like 80.The unit was easy to install. It is easy to use. The filter easy to clean. We've had no water drainage to empty. We've had about 8 days straight of warm weather. The unit has run extremely well. If the nights cool off, we do shut it off for a rest and to get fresh air [which we like better].In my opinion, it is a great unit for small areas, reasonably priced and easy to maintain.

i think mine was dropped during shipping. the inside where the flap connects to the side is all cracked and broken. i tried running it and thought it worked fine but it will shut off with the error code E5. i looked it up and its supposed to represent the water needing to be drained. well two issues with that, this model only needs that if you use dehumidifier which i have not used. plus i only used it for a few hours. maybe not even that long before it shut off. there is something definitely wront with mine and when i called amazon, it was outside the return window. i only had a month to return it. problem is, i bought it in the spring because it was the only time i could afford it and it just sat there until now when the weather was getting warm. so now i've wasted 500 dollars and will fry all summer. i cant afford another one.

The item arrived fast and in good condition by FedEx standard shipping in two days instead of the estimated four or five. Despite its heavy weight, I managed to unbox it by myself without much trouble. The window kit is made of very sturdy hard plastic despite some of the reviews I read and the sound level is on par with other air conditioners I have owned. On the fourth day it is working well at cooling down my apartment quickly and just in time for some rather hot days coming next week.

This came quickly and was very easy to set up. I appreciate being able to use the app. My one complaint is a strange noise when the fan runs and can be loud when trying to watch the tv.

I'm happy with this portable AC, it does its job. The fan is louder than expected, and personally I can't hear or feel the difference between high/med/low speed. Perhaps that's not working properly. But, it cools the space nicely (I have it in my bedroom) and I can feel the cool air right into the hallway. It's a heavy unit and needs two people to take it out of the box. Putting the piece into the window was easy. The only thing I would recommend to HISense in future, is to give enough pieces to put into a standard sliding glass door. If you are in a condo like me, you're limited to using it at a window location only (for the exhaust). I know you can buy a piece for sliding doors separately, but it wouldn't take much for the company to add another piece to complete the height for a sliding door. Overall I'm happy with this AC.
