I bought it to replace my old swab which has fallen apart already. Although slightly smaller than my old one, it does the job well. The blue colour looks good as well.

I purchased the Hodge Silk Oboe Swab, and I love it! The quality is excellent, and it does a fantastic job of cleaning my oboe. The silk material is gentle yet effective, leaving my instrument in top-notch condition. Highly recommended!

My original pull through that was made of cotton lost it's aglet on on the end. It works well as a full pull through for my oboe. The aglet has an extra shrink wrapped part to help secure it. I like it better than the one that I had with a ball chain as this one does not coil in the neck of the instrument. Overall, good quality for the price and it gets the job done.

A silk swab is an essential part of cleaning up the oboe after playing. This silk is very useful for drying out the instrument after playing. The weighted end of the string drops through the instrument without issue. I would purchase another without pause.
