Having the complete kit is great for a beginner looking to start grafting. My grafting tool came covered in oil and sawdust, like it had been used and returned, but it stilled worked and cut fine. I would recommend doing practice cuts on branches you don't care about first because there is a learning curve to making your cuts. Super convenient it comes with tape but I wish there was some indication of what type of tape they included or some more instruction on how best to use it. I found it very tricky to wrap my cuts while keeping tension, etc. Big reason I purchased this was for the carrying case, but unfortunately it's not really made for this product and when you open it, everything tends to fall out. If you already have some grafting tape laying around save your money and just buy the tool by itself

There is a groove for a U cut on where the U blade is supposed to cut. It will help in a clean cut.I don't see grooves for a v or for an omega shaped cut.

I bought these to graft my grape vine & apple trees ... They worked slick on the grape vine & seem to be quite sturdy overall ... an extra blade is also provided but if care is used they should last quite a while before replacing a blade.... I did not use them on my apple tree’s yet but will try them this fall or early next spring again... I would buy this tool again for sure.

Everything you need except maybe some grafting sealer for the end tips. Makes clean difficult cuts not possible with a knife for FAST grafting success. If you are one of those using a knife.....time to trade up. You will never go back. Excited to use on my orchard to revitalize some of the older trees and make some new ones.
