Probably the best Ive found at this price point and twice higher. Ive been on a long search and own many different brands but Ive not owned Bose so I cant compare there. They are somewhat heavy, very well made and comfortable. Also they clamp well to direct the music in without too much pressure. I wear them for at least 12-16 hours a day non stop. They are on their own without the app a little bottom heavy with bass at times IMO and I don't want to constantly change the EQ on my phone for different headphones. The EQ App is on the Apple App Store under Vokalen sound. I appreciate that it is available at the App Store as I am more comfortable using an app approved by Apple. They really work well for touch control which is also customizable via the app. It can take a little getting used to but when you do they are smooth to operate. You'll also be getting better battery life due to the fact they are 32 ohms impedance which consumes less power to drive the sound wave. They tick a lot of my "must have" boxes. I however own these more for the noise cancellation tho. I rarely listen to music. I am high functioning Autistic and most interior and exterior noise freaks me out making these a life saver since I have hyper hearing that noise actually hurts. I seriously find these are the best in the NC category plus the noise cancellation is also customizable via the app. I can also say they work well with passive sound isolation meaning that they are not turned on but still cut out ambient noise to an acceptable degree in certain settings like at night from the furnace and refrigerator. I really don't think you'll find anything that matches these. I highly recommend them.

For starters, I want to say I truly enjoy these headphones and for many reasons. One of the main ones is how your music sounds while listening. Lets break down everything quickly:Bluetooth (10/10): Very easy to pair the directions are simple and can connect to two devices at once. They'll connect fast when you turn them on. If you're connected to two devices and leave to go out and it disconnects from one device (it will alert you). If you return within five minutes it will reconnect to that device.App (7/10): Very simple and easy to use. They only have five EQ presets and one you can customize to your liking. I did email them to ask if they would add more and they said possibly in the future. If you're looking for a lot of preset EQs go with a pair of Soundcore headphones (they have 20 EQs in their app).Functionality (9/10): You can swipe left and right for song change, up and down for volume and you can customize the taps to pause and play and change ANC if you don't want to use the button on the right earcup. You do everything on the right earcup which is convenient and easy to utilize.Just a heads up, using these in the gym if you lift your arm up and brush against the earcup, it might change the song or pause it but it's nothing crazy.Sound (8/10): These headphones don't get extremely loud. I repeat these headphones do not get extremely loud so if that's what you're looking for, these are not it (Sony XM5 for those who want to spend, Skullcandy Crushers for those who are on a bit of a budget). These headphones sound great, they do get loud when listening to ambient, electronic, rock genres. The bass isn't too crazy with the preset in the app and it sounds really solid (not Bose aocusticslly and I've had those headphones) but they sound really nice. Especially punchy songs or songs with bass.ANC (7/10): They're not Bose and Sony (I own both of these) but I will say I live on a busy street in Midtown of a west coast city where there are cars going in both directions and a train that goes in both directions and it drowns out 90% of it standing on my balcony. You do feel a difference in the ANC when you change it. In Aware mode they have an air noise to it if it's the last setting you had when you turn on the headphones before turning on your music. I haven't used these on an airplane yet but I will in the spring. These sound good watching videos, movies and TV shows as I've done that on my iPad a few times and it's solid.Comfort (8/10): If you have bigger ears (like me), you earlobes will be on the under part of the ear cushion (it doesn't hurt or make it uncomfortable). The ear cushions are a mesh material and it feels different but not in a bad way. I've worn these for hours at a time and they're incredibly comfortable.Overall for the price point and what you get (case, intuitive buttons and swipe on the right earcup, app) you can't go wrong for this price point. Vokalen is a Canadian company stepping into the headphones market and they made a great pair of cans. They have a bright future in this space. 8/10.

My wife has Aipods Max but I wanted something that will not break the bank. I bought the Vokalen and the Edifier W830NB and the Vokalen beat it hands down. For me the Vokalen soft cushion earpiece was comfortable and similar texture to overpriced Air Max.Pros: Amazing sound, Great app, Great equalizer settings, go from my iPad to my iPhone seamless, great swipe controls with no cumbersome buttons to press, comfortable, easy folding for carrying and stuffing it in bag or backpack, comes with nice case and accessories.Cons: Earpieces are not replaceable. (I guess that's the price to pay for fabric cushion earpieces) Noise cancelling is good but it's not like the Aipods Max. (but I'm not going to pay an extra $475 to get premium Noise Cancellation. Conclusion: Very impressed with the quality and LOVE, LOVE the swipe controls for volume and next song (similar to expensive Sennheiser momentum 4). You can tell I did my headphone research. This Vokalen is premium quality for the price. Beats any $100-$180 headphone for the price. Can't wait to see if they come out with a 2.0 version and make the earpieces replaceable and top notch Noise Cancelling! #vokalen
