Provides a nice, balanced mounting point for horn upgrades behind the grill of the Forester. Using the existing alignment of the mounting bolt for the center support, it fit nicely. You don't need this to do a horn upgrade, but if you're doing it already, may as well get it.

Was a great fit with no modification for GC8. Had to bend slightly (by hand) to get the horns to clear the grill.

Great product cheap price. I know this is for an older vehicle, but I installed it on my 2019 WRX and I just did a little modification to make it work. I cut out the top of the left mounting hole for the hood latch bolt and it fit like a glove. I used tin snip to cut it as it’s pretty thick metal. Shipping was fast and adequate.

It worked perfectly for my 08 Subaru Outback. There are no instructions, but to help those that need them, you just need to remove the bottom bolt on the hood latch. Relax, it's long enough, but I'd suggest using some blue threadlocker just as a precaution. The product picture shows the back of the bracket. The notch is supposed to be on the passenger side top, (to allow hood latch clearance) the square hole is on the driver's side and was a good place to ziptie the relay. The bracket is shaped to go around the hood latch support rib. There are more expensive options, (cough Perrin cough) but unless the "bros" are brand checking you, go with this.
