I got this to use for long trips on a plane because some airlines have cut costs to the point where you're basically sitting on a hard piece of plywood. I figured this would add back some comfort. It does.I don't know why other people are saying it's hard to inflate. It's incredibly easy to blow up, and doesn't require any effort whatsoever to blow into the valve by simply exhaling. 2-3 breaths and you're done. If they can't fill it, they must be doing something wrong. There's a really useful air vent blocker that's spring loaded, so it prevents air from escaping once you've filled it, unless you purposely release the air.In the photos they show the air valve positioned at the back and on the bottom. Actually I prefer it on the top and in front. It's right in between my legs and it's super-easy to open the plug and release some air while I'm sitting on it to get the perfect amount of inflation. It really couldn't be any easier. I don't need to fill air even nearly as much as I thought because once I'm sitting on it, the air distributes and lifts my entire butt up. If some people find it uncomfortable, they might be over-inflating it.I knocked off 1 star because it's too wide for me though. I'm fit and slim, and I think this is designed for someone with a wider butt. Also, some airline seats are only 17" now, so at 17.7", it's slightly wider than I would have liked when using it specifically for this purpose.Overall it looks to be good quality and capable of holding plenty of body weight. It's a good, but not perfect, solution for what I was looking for. If my butt were on the wider side, then it would have been 5 stars.

One of the old theatres in town got converted to a repertory theatre that often shows documentaries. They did a great job renovating the lobby area but did not update the seats. Unfortunately the seats are so uncomfortable on my "sit" bones that I literally have to consider whether a show we want to see is worth a sore bum!!This AirSwim inflatable pillow is a lifesaver. The fact that it is inflatable means I don't have to carry around a large pillow, and I can inflate it once I'm in the theatre. It took 6 breaths and it was fully inflated. The only thing I struggled with was putting the cap on, and accidentally let out some air by pushing the air release. But I didn't bother inflating it some more and it was fine.I've been sitting on this cushion on my chair as I write this review and it's comfortable. I will happily go see more films at that theatre now, bringing this cushion with me!

I got this due to some posterior issues after cancer treatment. I have the memory foam style donut pillows but those are inconvenient for travel. Hence, I decided to order the AirSwim inflatable pillow to try out! When deflated the AirSwim pillow is reasonably compact. Folded it is about the size of a folded T-shirt. To inflate there is a one-way air valve. Just pop the plug out and blow air in. Just note there is a push "pin" inside the air hole. You need to blow hard enough so this "pin" opens the one-way air valve. I first tried the back end of a small handheld vacuum, but that could not generate enough air flow to push the "pin" down to open the valve. Instead I used my mouth to form a seal around the plug hole and blow into it that way. This worked and after about 7-8 large blows I was able to pump the pillow up. I am glad it has the one-way valve because with each breath it kept the air inside the pillow! What I didn't like is the air hole itself. It is fairly flat against the pillow so it was harder ro form a good seal around it with my mouth. I understand they wanted to keep the hole/valve as flat as possible, but then the plug itself sticks up quite high so that it is not flush with the pillow. If you wanted to inflate with an electric pump you will need to proper adapter to form a good seal around the air fill hole.Once inflated the AirSwim pillow is actually a great size for me! I've had some memory foam ones that were so small for some reason. The AirSwim actually fit fully one our breakfast table chairs, maybe it was even slightly larger! The donut hole part was also bigger than the memory foam pillows I have, which was great, as this allowed a larger area of your posterior from feeling any pressure from sitting. Unfortunately though, you really feel the donut itself. If you pump it full, then the donum feels very firm to sit on. If you put less air in then it feels a little "rolly polly" because as you shift the air also shifts. So yes, it helps relieve pressure where the hole is, which relives some pain for me, but you will feel the donut part. After some time there is increasing discomfort along the ring of the pillow. This is a worthwhile tradeoff for me though, to get some temporary pain relief. After using, to deflate the pillow, just pop the plug out and press down onto the pin. The air will flow out and then just squish the rest out. Unfortunately, a carrying pouch is not included with the pillow. However, the material outside feels durable, like microfiber. It's soft to the feel.Overall, this pillow worked for me, providing me some pain relief. However, after sitting on it for some time some pressure builds and there is discomfort that starts along the ring of the pillow where your posterior touches. The donut hole on the AirSwim is one of the larger ones I have seen, and that works well for me. I can see this may not work for smaller people though. I also found the blowup better for me than the memory foam ones. Being heavier the memory foam squishes down quite a bit defeating the donut shape. With the blowup, the air keeps the pillow from compressing down so it still keeps the middle of your posterior off the chair. Additionally, you can adjust the feel of the pillow by reducing or adding more air into it. The couple cons I have though are with the air valve. First, it is harder to blow into the air valve than other blow-up pillows I have used. The opening is almost flat against the pillow body so it's hard to put your mouth around it if manually blowing it up. However, once you put the plug back on it sticks a centimeter or so above the pillow. Lastly, I wish the air valve could be locked into open position making it easier to fold up and squeeze the remaining air out. Instead you must keep pressing the "pin" to keep the valve open to release the air. Even with some of these cons though, I will still take the temporary pain relief I can get with this pillow than without. All-in-all the pillow suited my condition well!

This product is to be inflated by mouth or air pump but the inflating device on the cushion is not suitable for either of these two recommended method. So I had to return it.

My mother had to have some surgery in which sitting afterwards was a bit uncomfortable. I ordered this Inflatable donut pillow to make it a little more comfortable for her. The price point really couldn't be better. It's easy to inflate and ready to use within minutes. You can adjust the air for more or less depending on what the person using feels is comfortable. She was able to sit in her recliner with less pain and discomfort. Great for traveling. This couldn't have been more handy to have after her surgery.

I didn't actually find these that useful, post-CRS surgery, but they are what I expected: a sort of satiny (rubbery satin surface) inflatable boat construction that was functional. I am heavy, and found that at least with initial tests to see if they helped or hurt, literally, the design was functional. The pillow was able to hold varying amounts of air with a 200+ pound person (me) sitting on it.

This review is for the 'AirSwim Inflatable Hemorrhoid Pillows, Donut Pillow for Tailbone Pain, Adjustable Inflatable Seat Cushion for Bed Sores, Postpartum Pregnancy, Car Seat, Airplane, 17.7'' x 15.4'' x 4.3''(Grey).'This inflatable cushion arrives uninflated and folded into a transparent plastic bag. It looks exactly as shown on the amazon photos. It is a medium size with an oval hole cut out of the middle and is in a grey soft smooth faux-velvet type material. It is easy and quick to inflate and the plug stopper feels secure. There is a little valve button in the plug-hole which you can press to release some air to get it to a comfortable level.I injured my coccyx years ago and have severe chronic coccydinia so I have difficulty sitting on most seats; any pressure at my coccyx causes pain which escalates quickly until I can't endure it. I have tried many, many cushions and most do not help me at all.I do like this cushion as I can alter the level of air in it and the cut out is a reasonable size. I have tried it about 2/3 full of air so it is not too firm when I sit on it. I usually know immediately if a cushion won't be suitable for me as pain is almost immediate. This one feels promising, I am willing to try it on different seats and feel hopeful that it will be useful for me on some seats.I think it will fit on most chairs and can easily be taken out (inflated or uninflated) as it is lightweight. It is definitely worth trying if you need a cushion to take pressure off coccyx area or nearby. Being unable to sit easily and comfortably is life-changing - so anything that might help is worth trying!(I use a partially inflated car tyre inner tube in the car which is a similar idea to this cushion but more robust with a bigger cut-out hole, along with back cushions! Just a thought if anybody out there is desperate for other ideas to try).

Very easy to inflate, just took a few breaths. The material is a flocked vinyl so it isn't slippery, more of a velvet texture and comfortable on the skin. I found it doesn't need much air to provide support. Extremely easy to inflate and deflate. The stopper is sturdy and holds in well. I felt confident sitting on the pillow, not worried if the seams would bust. It appears to be good construction and can take a lot of weight. I'm over 150 pounds for reference.Rolls up for storage when not in use or when travelling. Such a good item to pack in my bag for all those hard seats and chairs.

Possibly because I wasn't able to inflate the cushion to its fullest, I found it quite wobbly to sit on. I did however like the support it offered as a back cushion. The material feels soft to the touch, and quite thick and strong. It's also a pretty good size when inflated.
