If useing to remove a inner tie rod, tighten sufficiently so the clamp doesn't slip. Better results in loosening tie rod with electric impact or air impact gun. The sudden impact shock will loosen rod better than a long extension and 3/8 ratchet, which will result in excessive torsional twisting. It is possible to damage the rack if the rod is not loosened quickly.

Wouldn't of been able to remove circle inner tie rods off a ford focus 2007 without this tool. Very easy to use
