I needed something for cold water dives, but don't like the restrictive feel of full hoods on my neck area. This was thick enough to keep my head warm and provide coverage for my ears too. Used them on some cold lake dives 55º and then also used it in Hondo in the 80º Caribbean waters. Keeps the sun off my bald head when waiting for the boat. My son, with his teenage bouffant hair, like how it made putting his mask on easy. Our female divemaster in Hondo ended up getting one for her hair after seeing my son use it. For those of you needing a full hood... this isn't for you, but if you need something for warmth and don't like something on your neck like a hood or even a chin strap... this is the way to go. Warm enough in the cold water, but great for warm water dives too.Also... found another use for this... I wear it in the hot tub at the house when it's below 30º and windy but want to keep my bald head from freezing in the windchill.

I swim laps as my regular workout, but due to clueless pool manager not heating the water during winter, I need this excellent neoprene cap. It is just what I need for coldwater swimming. Covers the ears and forehead just fine. Sizing chart accurate.

We have a swim spa in our backyard, and it's heated well, but in the colder months my head gets rather chilly in it. This is great solution, I treat it like a swim cap, though of course my hair gets wet in this one, but the insulative power is a huge boon to this winter swimmer, keeping my head warm in cold weather while the rest of me is submerged.
