I bought this as a replacement for one of the fancier multi input 2 computer KVM switches which turned out to freeze up my mouse or keyboard or both at random intervals.I'm running a relatively new model Dell XPS 9850 and an older Dell XPS 8700 with stock Dell mouse/KB and it just works perfectly.I like the long cables which allowed me to mount them some distance apart.I like the remote switch which allowed me to situate the box back with the rest of the cables.I like the fact that there is a separate mouse and keyboard input to each computer. I think that my newest Dell doesn't like having the mouse/keyboard go through a hub which may be why it didn't work with the fancy KVM I returned. The video is rock solid when I switch between the two Dells. So yeah, I'm going to buy more of the boxes. Keep up the good work IOGEAR :-)

Update 23rd January, 2018: I was able to contact customer care and they sent me a new one. It's working fine so far. :) Happy about it. This KVM is very useful. I hope there won't be any issue with the new one.**Attention Seller**: I had it delivered three days ago and one of the USBs keeps failing while doing work or if the USB cable gets a slight push. It's really annoying because I am using that USB with a new Laptop. So, If the laptop is moved a little, that USB fails. I checked the USB ports of the Laptop. Nothing wrong with Laptop's USBs. It's just one of the USBs of this KVM that keeps failing :( What should I do?? Other 3 USBs, VGA, switch, and Audio work fine as expected.

Unless you're using this for a server but you're interested in this KVM switch, you're probably like me and won't be using the VGA cables. Instead, you will be plugging your computers into two ports on your monitor and switching screens using your monitor controls, and using the KVM switch to switch mouse and keyboard.First problem with that setup is that it's mildly annoying to have an extra step to switch computers.Second problem is sound. You will not be leaving both computers plugged into the audio, because when you do so you end up with a loud and annoying hiss and static in your audio. So now your workflow to switch computers is:1. Press the button on the KVM.2. Change input sources on your monitor.3. Unplug one computer's audio cable.4. Plug the other computer's audio cable in.That's four steps. At that point you're only using this switch for switching your USB keyboard and mouse. And that's where you run into the final problem: USB weirdness when switching from one computer to another. Sometimes my keyboard will freak out and start repeating keys until I toggle the button a few times. Sometimes my mouse will just not work. It's iffy.If you think you can save a few bucks with this KVM switch and deal with the headaches, all I can say is it's not worth the money.

Wunderbar. I looked at the manual but it's pretty easy to figure out. The switch works well, no issues except one computer seems to change the screen resolution settings if you switch back to the other computer before it finishes loading properly.Ok, one other minor quibble. One of the pins bent on the graphics port. I don't know if it's because I pushed too hard, or the metal was softer than I'm used to. Thankfully it didn't break, so push the connections together gently. Perhaps the newer stuff isn't as hardy as my usual monitor connector.

I have been using this KVM switch for a few months. I am happy with it. It works really well, the picture quality is good, the keyboard and mouse responsiveness is good, the speaker sound is good. It is a really good KVM for the price. It works great between Mac and Windows. The only drawback form is that the switch between computer takes about a one second. This won't be a problem for the majority of user that is why it keeps the 5-star rating. I do a lot of work that requires switching computers and user other more expensive KVM switches as well so that is why I probably noticed. One more thing to note that the function keys [FN]+ F(n) keys still work as expected, this is really good since this is not the case with all KVM switches and may be a pain if you use them a lot.

This KVM works pretty much exactly the way I'd like and having remote button to toggle between PC's is awesome. Overall I'm quite happy with it.There are a couple things that I ran into that were slightly frustrating though. The primary one is the audio has a ton of background noise, there's a constant high pitched hum when i have audio plugged into it. I believe this might be due to inadequate shielding in the cables as the audio connection is through one big cable with everything else, but I don't know for sure. I'm not using the audio feature of this KVM because of it.The second frustration is I was hoping I could plug one of the cables into a USB to PS2 converter for an old PC I have it hooked into. This did not work however so I had to get it working on USB. This was not a huge problem though more of a minor frustration.

Works great - I only had a couple of minor beefs:-The "switch" is a button rather than a switch. A switch would be a bit more user-friendly because you would be able to know at any given moment which computer it is switched to. This would be useful, for example, when computers are turned off or when screen is off.-The USB and audio cables which sprout from the VGA cable are rather short. So the cable will only work if your VGA, USB and audio ports are relatively close together. This was a problem, for example, with my girlfriend's Dell laptop, which has the audio jacks on the front of the computer and the VGA at the side.Other than those little things, it works great. And appreciate that it's small and has a remote switch.

I have a gaming PC and a Mac that I need connected to the same monitor, but these will be connected with Dual Link DVI and DisplayPort respectively. I will control the input on the monitor manually, but required a switch for audio, keyboard and mouse only. This is a product that seemingly doesn't exist, so I went for this, hoping that it would work without anything connected to VGA.It arrived today and, while I don't have the monitor yet, I have been able to test the switch and it works very well. The cables for each computer are bundled together as a single wire when leaving the switching block, making it much easier to manage cabling and avoid the spaghetti disaster that normally comes with a more complicated setup.Another feature that helps keep cabling hidden is the remote control switch. This operates on a toggle basis so is only one buttons and attached to the switching block with a good length of cable so this can be conveniently located at the side of a desk or wherever else you wish it to go. I'd recommend buying some cable tacks to keep this tidy, and perhaps some double sided adhesive if you plan to fix the button to the underside or side of a desk. The build quality seems good and the connections are well fitting and secure. The switching time is very fast (not too important for me as I'll be changing monitor inputs too) and as long as one of the computers is on power is maintained to these USB devices which might be important if your keyboard has some advanced features involving temporary memory. All in all this seems like a great product and, crucially for me, works without the VGA connections being in use. I can't actually think of any way this product could be improved!
