Your cart is empty.Smart Charger - The IQ Smart Charger offers automatic charging control for DLS battery chargers, providing longer and safer use of your system's battery. The IQ controller allows the battery charge r to operate as an automatic 3-stage "smart charger". This gives the user the benefit of bulk, absorption, and float stage charging, decreases charge times, insures proper and safe battery charging , and minimizes over-charging. The IQ monitors the battery at all times. If the DLS voltage remains in the long term float stage for more than seven days, the IQ Smart Charger will automatically deliver a boost charge for a predetermined time, then return to the normal float stage. DLS units are also available with the IQ Smart Charger internally installed within the unit.

I purchased this unit for my solar charging system with the IOTA LS 45 charger. It was not suitable for my LiFePO4 12V/100AH batteries. The batteries were not charging above 13.5 volts. Without this unit the batteries were charging to 14.0 volts. Also the unit led does not change colors according to the type of charging (refer IOTA manual). It remains stable green all the time. IOTA has introduced a separate model of the unit for lithium batteries, and I have ordered for it from US Amazon.

Check your RV power panel for the IOTA logo.The power panel is usually below the fridge. The AC to DC converter/battery charger is typically mounted in the cavity under the fridge. This space can be accessed by removing the drawer under the fridge. Just slide the drawer out and unclip the slide rails and the drawer will come right out.With a flashlight, have a look in the space. If there is a metal box mounted to the floor that is labelled “IOTA DLS45” or other IOTA model, you have found your AC to DC converter/battery charger. The IQ4 plugs right in with what looks like a phone jack connector and viola! you’ve just upgraded your DLS45 to an awesome 4 stage battery charger! A must have upgrade for any RV.The installation listed above is specific to a 2010 245 RBS Starcraft Travelstar travel trailer by Jayco
