This is for initial impressions - I can't speak to long term reliability.First off this is not even a lunchbox amp - It's almost a matchbox amp it is so tiny. However, don't let this fool you as it can put out some face meting gain. I have a serious gearhead friend who after hearing mine immediately went out and bought one. He is using his to drive a full 4x12 HiWatt cabinet and it sounds mean. The clean channel is decent, and I have not really tried any pedals through it either direct input or effect loop.Honestly that's not what this thing is for, and you need to spend all your time on GAIN. Dropping down the tuning on my Schecter produces some serious chug worthy of any metal fan.I've seen forums claiming that swapping out the factory tube with a name brand (Mesa, JJ, Electro-harmonix) makes it sound even better but I'm happy as is.If you want close to MESA BOOGIE sound on a SQUIRE budget this is your amp.

Incredible value for your money! It does actually do a very good job of sounding like a dual rectifier Boogie. And loud! I can’t believe it’s only 20w of solid state power; it’s nearly as ear splitting as my all tube 50w Marshall. I love this little amp, and the Meteor which I purchased first, they’re amazing. Two reasons I only gave 4 stars for versatility: 1. there’s only the tone knob instead of 3 band EQ (nothing an EQ pedal can’t fix) and 2. there’s a huge volume difference between the clean and overdrive channels so when you switch you have to adjust the output volume. If you do a lot of switching back and forth, do yourself a favor and spend the extra $30 for the one with the foot switch so you can have different settings on each channel. But, overall, awesome little amps and I am very happy with them!

I already had a Joyo Meteor Bantamp that I have been happy with when I bought this Zombie. I have listened to countless YouTube videos doing comparisons of these amps to other amps, to other Bantamps, to the amps they're supposed to be 'inspired by,' and they all mostly sounded alike to me with variations in distortion in those videos. I don't know if there is some kind of lossy compression when digitized, or what, for those videos, but in person the Zombie and the Meteor sound more different than they did in video comparisons. In fact I was convinced by those videos that I would not get much of a different sound out of the Zombie than I could out of the Meteor. I'm glad I decided to try it anyway (since Amazon offered a 15% off coupon) as the Zombie and Meteor are noticeably voiced different. Both clean and overdrive channels sound different. The Zombie gives most of the signing, harmonically articulated distortion that its much more expensive muse is known for. For me the overdrive channel sounded best with the gain at about 11:00 o'clock and the tone at about 2:30 o'clock (using a LP with two humbuckers). I have not yet tried with my EQ pedal, but I can only imagine that will improve the sound.

I love this little amp, I can hook up pedals or even one of my old combos to it and just do what ever I want. The clean is really good, the overdrive channel is thick, watch the gain if you are facing near or toward the anp or speakers, at 1/4 gain it can start squealing, but that’s user error not the amp!If I want to get a Marshall sound I can use one of my overdrive pedals and tweak it and the tone or plug in my mgcd10 with a line cable and boom, Marshall tone.Honestly though I love the sound of this amp with nothing else, but sometimes you need a fuzz pedal.Update April, 13thHad a failure of the tube a few days ago, amp still works, but the volume has decreased.Amazon put me into contact with Joyo and after doing some tests for them, some I found online it was determined the tube went, it happens sometimes.Mine went microphonic and when lightly taping the tube I could clearly hear it through the speaker, Joyo offered to refund, replace the unit and I suggested replacing the tube and to which they offered to refund a partial amount.Finding a single tube on Amazon isn’t exactly easy at the moment l, much less one in stock and I will be waiting a few days before the Tungsol 12AX7 is in stock and shipped. 10 days to be exact, but to shorten a bit, not trying to take advantage of them I chose a good tube at a good price, ordered it and showed proof, it was not quite $18, but Joyo rounded up my cost and this amp will be back in business soon.Thank you Joyo support team, you guys really do try to take care of your customers and make it easy!

Been playing on a Soldano Hotrod 100+ with matching vintage 30s cab for about 14 years and it was really too much for the house. Kept breaking knick-knacks’ and stuff falling off the walls. Very close to an SLO when plugged into an old Randall cab with seventy 80s. Sadly had to sell the Soldano and cab. Also having a Line 6 Flextone ii plus 50/50 sense mid 90s it's a very loud entertaining toy to say the least. This led me to wanting a new head for the Randall cab. Started looking at used heads at musicians front + The bay. Sadly these people are a little over the top on this stuff.Anyway, I was looking around and found this JOYO ZOMBY TUBE AMP for under $200. Bucks???? So after a week or so of reading forums and watching boob tube I thought well if I don’t like it, I’ll send it back. But wait! It’s smaller in person then it looks on the net. Well don’t let the size fool anyone because it’s a Timber wolf stuffed into a mouse. Very clean and Gain is over the top! Can’t believe it push’s this 4-12” seventy-80s cab without breaking a sweat. Love it. Now back to breaking Knick-Knacks and stuff.
