This perch is wider at the base and then gradually gets more slender as it extends into the cage. This keeps the bird perched on the middle to end rather than right near the side of the cage. The natural sand is part of the mold, not sprayed on and so is durable and comfortable for your bird. Suitable for parakeets and cockatiels and other similar sized birds.

My birds use it no issues and install was easy. Definitely for smaller birds.

My birds love this. I bought 3 so they can stand outside the cage.

I bought this thinking it would help with my birds nails. Problem is, I can't even attach it to the cage because the threads are stripped and it just keeps spinning and doesn't get tight. The sand also falls off easily. Maybe it was just defective?

These perches are by far my favorite, even compared to the natural branches. They clean up quite easily, and the birds love them - sturdy, they stay in place when fixed to the cage, and the birds like to rub their beaks on them to clean them.

Budgie likes it. At first he nibbled on the ends a bit but decided his cuttle bone is better for that. We use this perch, a rope perch and wooden perch in his cage for variety and muscle building. Works well to keep his tiny talons sanded down.

Good length and size for budgies but the sand just falls off the plastic too easily- when I received it, one third of it had no sand on it. Basically a cheap plastic perch.

Great idea had to buy large washers as the cage bars are a bit far apart for the nut

My finches seem to enjoy both the sand paper perch and the other perches of this brand. Different widths make it great for the birds feet. Attaches very easily and securely.

Great enjoyment for both my canaries, and parakeets.Washes well, don't use extremely hot water. They can bend .The sand that covers the plastic moulded perch. Last a very long time. Encouraging your pet birds to develop good hygiene for nails and beck.Definitely buy again.

It has a penetrating smell of naphthalene. I tried waiting for it to go away and tried washing it off, but after a few months it ended in up in the bin as I didn't want to subject my birds to toxic chemicals.
