After searching and finding these, I had a theory they would be a great replacement for the OEM battery modules that had lived their best life and gone into retirement mode ( ie. no longer holding a charge ). And indeed, they ARE a great replacement... They been in use for a few weeks now, and I cain't tell 'em apart from the OEM versions ( unless I read the fine print ). Recommended! It's strange, though, that the charge pods ( Midland AVP23 ) aren't easily available in Canada. I had to contact some Colombian friends with submarines to smuggle me a shipment of the charge pods, disguised as bricks of cocaine ( which appears to be practically legal here now, ugh ).

I put the batteries in a set of walkie talkies we use when traveling in our motorhome, lasted the entire 8 hour trip with juice to spare.

Ordered 4 battery packs and 2 of them would not turn on or charge. Returned the 2 ''faulty'' ones and only 1 of the 2 new replacements worked. Same issue. (Would not turn on or charge). Thinking there has got to be more to this issue. I tested the ''non-working'' battery packs on a volt meter and they all worked fine. On a hunch, I used a sharp utility knife and trimmed back some of the white shrink wrap on the negative end of the battery packs and that solved the issue. The white plastic shrink wrap was preventing the radios battery contacts from touching the negative end of the battery and completing the circuit. Zero issues now with any of the battery packs.
