I never had to use this yet but it should work fine. I heard the brand was really good. Got it in case of emergency while camping in the woods.

Very useful product during hikes in mountains with running water. As it has small capacity though it must be filled frequently.

Safe water to drink, anywhere. Long hikes, day hikes, you find a stream a river a lake or a waterfall. This is bloody useful and accompanied me everywhere

The best water filter out there for back country camping at least here in Ontario. For the waters of northern Ontario this filter is the be all and end all. I do notice though that the bags develop small pin holes over a couple of seasons and the flow rate does slow for reasons unknown as I am overly careful with cleaning and end of season storage. Otherwise the flow rate is undeniably the best out there!Because it is a bag, I carry a second as well as drops.

I purchased this for another trip to Mexico: I didn't use it as much as expected, but I was impressed with the fast flow compared to similar products I tried before. I like the tight fit of the flip cap over the spout, but I felt like the plastic on the bottle is way too thin! I take good care of my things, but I worry it might rip easily along the rim where the hard top and soft body connect. I still trust the filtering quality and will keep using it on trips and camping, but would have preferred a thicker, more solid body. Half filled and chilled in the fridge, it also worked well to cool down and when I was sick to put on the nape or forehead :-)

A perfect choice for any backcountry adventure. Super user friendly and cleans easily as well. My old filter was nearly $120 and top of the line (MSR gravity filter), but this one works just as well! The weight savings for this product are awesome. The filtered water tastes amazing and the filter rate is fast and smooth. This product is the best filter on the market right now. No disappointment here!

I was going to buy a life straw or sawyer but this is a much better hiking solution in my opinion. Good materials and build quality with excellent flow. Because the "bottle" is actually a bag it compresses down into a compact size that will easily fit in a pocket. I keep mine in the small pouch on my back pack hip belt. The mouth of the "bottle" is large so its easy to fill even from a shallow stream. It does have excellent flow because squeezing the bag is like having a built in pressure pump but I did find that after the first use and it's completely dried out, it does take quite a few minutes soak time before the pores open up to flow more than a trickle. Once soaked though, it flows good as new. I carry a Britta water bottle with a built carbon filter and use the Katadyn to refill it in under a minute so one of these could hydrate a few people. I don't know how well it handles really dirty muddy water because Ive always found clean looking water to use. I'm going to get another one for my parents who moved to an island with off grid water.
