About this item

  • STABLE QUALITY: The full-size bass guitar features a naturally dried solid paulownia body, maple neck, and rosewood fingerboard. Quality tonewood interstitial structure is uniform and dense, which is not easy to crack and deform. This right-handed bass guitar with a polished surface looks shinier while standing up to years of wear and tear
  • BETTER TONE DISPLAY: The PB-Styles bass features dual open single pickups, and is equipped with 2 volumes and 1 tone control knob that you can use to play the blues and everything else in between. Compared with an ordinary guitar, this standard bass guitar has thicker steel strings and larger string tension to provide a stable tune
  • OPEN-GEAR TUNING MACHINES: The 4-string rock bass is equipped with smooth operating tuners and a tuning peg machine allows for more accurate tuning. Through-body fixed bridge enhances tuning stability and punchy attack. Each string height can be adjusted by tuning the neck on the top of the fingerboard
  • GREAT FEELINGS: The maple neck with a C-shaped profile is a remarkably comfortable fit, which is suitable for various playing styles. 20 copper-nickel frets with fret position marks on the neck and top of the fingerboard to switch fingerings and improve beginner skills quickly, and also is smooth and friendly to your hands
  • 20 WATT AMPLIFIER: The amp with built-in speaker, headphone output & input jack. With the turn of a knob, you'll control the Volume, Treble, Mid, Bass, and Phones to discover your sound. The beginner electric bass guitar set comes with all the accessories you need, which is the best choice for a holiday gift

Having to completely redo my review after my interaction with ktaxon customer service, which was extremely positive.Taking it from the top, I bought this bass mostly for the small amp, which fits perfectly in my cube shelf after removing the corner protectors, and its exactly what youd expect from the size. It would make a good first amp, and it makes a great practice amp for me when I dont want to set up my primary. As for the bass, its comfortable, it sounds great, and the setup is typical for the price range, which is that you need to get one done or do it before playing. Now, as for my problem, the strap button pulled straight out of the body under normal use, which is something Ive run into on cheaper guitars as well. It boils down to the screws just being fundamentally too small, and while fixable, isnt something I'd normally recommend for a beginner because a strap is super necessary on the bass.Heres where I have to say, Ktaxon absolutely stepped up. They reached out to discuss the issue and looked into it, offering a resolution for me and I feel strongly the issue will be addressed in the future.More than that, I think Ktaxon stands behind their products, and being that I've bought other products from them with no issues, I can say this would make a good starter bass and that I do recommend it.

I bought this because I liked the blue/green color, the white perloid pickguard, and the white inlays on the fretboard. I also liked the symmetrical body shape, and the fact that the pickups are Precision/Jazz (PJ). The only ingredient missing is that it's not short scale like I prefer. But I can tolerate that. It sounds decent enough, and one thing that really suprised me is that the entire package that came is so small and light. The accessories -- the amp, gig bag, strap, and power cord, are all rather inexpensive and cheap feeling, but what do you expect for $100? I didn't buy the bass for these add-ons, so their cheap feel didn't affect my rating. The gig bag fits the bass, unlike the Glarry short scale bass I also purchased and made into a piccolo bass.I needed to adjust the intonation and like many basses I own, the bass has a lot of fret buzz on the Low #'s F, F#, and G on the first, second, and third frets. But this buzz doesn't come through the amp, fortunately. I will probably play with the action and saddle height to see if I can get rid of the buzz, but I am still happy with the bass overall, particularly for the price I paid.By the way, I am a former semi-pro bass player who gigged regularly until Covid hit. I also build instruments. Through my building, I learned how "similar" cheap and expensive basses and guitars are. I believe there is a lot of hype about brands, and I am happy to use low-end basses for recording and also performing live for paying customers. The major difference is in the sound of the pickups and how well the instrument plays due to its setup. Another thing to consider is hum -- this bass does have hum like all other single coil pickups. If you want to get rid of it, you would have to replace the pickups with humbuckers and sheild the bass.Overall, a nice addition to my growing collection of basses, and one that I love to just look at as it hangs on the wall of my music room.

We have replaced the amp because it was way too small for what we needed. I bought this base as a starter for my 14-year-old son. He absolutely fell in love with it. We have started getting him lessons And everyone at the music store and his teacher were impressed that this was an Amazon buy for under a hundred bucks for both. We have upgraded his to something for Christmas that he'll receive during then but overall it produces great sound and it's the perfect learning bass.
