I got the KUUAUX Stud Finder Wall Scanner to replace my old stud finder that stopped working. It comes with a 9 volt battery which is easy to install. After calibrating the unit on the wall, it clearly identified the location of the studs. It tells you their exact positioning including the centre of the stud. My needs for the stud finder are primarily for hanging things on the wall so I'm not using the other capabilities for detecting AC wires and pipes.

No more missing studs or hitting hidden water pipes. This thing is a life changer. I was using one of those cheap scanners that just beeps when it thinks you're near a stud but it never worked properly, but this one finds them EVERY TIME. Well worth the price especially when you consider the money you'll be saving on repairing drywall and punctured water pipes in the walls.

I found it easy to use and very accurate. Anyone can find dead center of the studs. Great for hanging pictures or mounting a tv without putting several holes in the wall. You just move it along your wall and the LED lights will light up to let you know that it found a stud. Gives you peace of mind that the item you are mounting won’t be on an edge where it would not be as secure and/or dangerous should it fall. No issues or problems, great buy.

It works well for the stud finding, although, when I select the incorrect stud size it seems to be not detecting. It said it could detect AC wire, but I tried to move in circle around the light switch which I expect should have detect AC wire, but it couldn't. It uses 9V battery which was included, but 9V is much more expensive to buy than AA/AAA, which I preferred. I tried to use 9V rechargable battery too and it worked fine. It is a good stud finder, but not so good an AC wire finder.

Pros:- The included instructions are pretty detailed but easy to follow. Really helpful especially if you don't have tons of experience with using stud finders before.- In my testing it did a good job at finding wood joists. It takes a couple minutes to calibrate and get the hang of how the technique works and figure out how to locate the centre of each joist, but it's easy once you get the hang of it.- Having the ability to locate other things like AC electricity wires and metal pipes is great to have too. This stud finder is incredibly useful! I'm thrilled to finally hang our photos without damaging the walls. I used to rely on the provided pin, but it always left marks. This is a much better solution

The materials in this stud finder and the build quality are average. The inclusion of a 9V battery is a very nice touch. Reading the instructions is important to understand how to calibrate the device. The stud finder needs to be calibrated every time you use it.I tested this stud finder on a few walls in my house. It’s easy to use. It performed very well when it comes to finding studs. However, the stud finder is overly sensitive when it comes to detecting alternating current (AC). In the AC detection mode, the device warned me I was approaching a live AC wire while it was still 3 feet away from the wire. That’s not a big issue for me since I plan to use this device to find studs only.Considering that a battery is included and the good performance of the stud finder, I think this product is a good value.

This stud finder is such a game changer! I’ve used other stud finders before, but this one is by far the most accurate and easy to use. The LCD display is clear and makes it so simple to find studs in the wall, whether I’m working on a big project or just hanging pictures.I love the smart microprocessor chip that helps pinpoint the center of studs, which makes drilling so much safer. It’s really lightweight and feels durable. If you’re doing any kind of home improvement, this tool is definitely worth the investment!

I have an existing stud finder that I got years ago. While it works, it takes forever to get results that seem consistent and therefore make me comfortable enough.This stud finder comes with a 9v battery. It has detection modes for 3 different depths (half inch, 1 inch, 1.5 inch). I don't know which one to use but since the manual says it is the 'up to' depth I just chose the 1 inch mode and that seems to work well. Once you select a mode using the front button, you hold it against the wall and the press the calibration button on the side and hold it in place until the calibration is done. Once calibrated I began to move it against a wall that I'd already tested in the past and installed floating shelves on. The places where it detected matched where I'd drilled for the shelves, and I noticed it was much faster and more 'confident' compared to my existing stud finder.I also tried the AC mode and it seems to detect the wires as it got near the outlet on my wall. It did seem a bit overly sensitive though which is an issue I've had with my existing stud finder. I have to pad it to decrease the sensitivity.Overall this stud finder works great and is a good value at the low price of $29.99 at the time of this review. It is much faster at detecting studs and AC power compared to my older and cheaper device, and seems to do much better at giving accurate readings and giving less false readings.
