La verdad es que no esperaba que resultara muy útil, por aquello de ser portátil... Pero con sólo un par de pasadas ya se nota en el filo que funciona. Después se suaviza lo hecho con la parte cerámica y queda bastante bien. Pesa un poco para llevarlo en el bolsillo, pero sin duda vale la pena.

Are you the sort of person who reads reviews (He asked, rhetorically)? Well here's one for you:This little gizmo says it'll sharpen knives and other, similar bladed tools. It does. At first it didn't. The problem was I used it improperly. You must angle the sharpener approximately 45° towards yourself, not perpendicular to the floor (assuming the floor or other surface you are standing on is appropriately level). Then pull the bladed tool through the little trough thingy a bunch of times and voilà! Sharper.There's other parts on this thing for sharpening serrated blades. They also work.You can put this in a pocket and pull it out to sharpen a knife in all sorts of situations, possibly thereby saving the day! Or making the situation awkward. Use your discretion.One comment is that the whole thing is quite small, while my hands are not. So care must be taken not to cut oneself.Amazon advised me I could mention "easy to use", "sheerness" and "value for money" in this review. So commenting on those points, in order: Yes (see above). What (see below)? Yes (subjectively).Merriam-Webster defines "sheer" thus:Definition of sheer (Entry 1 of 6)1a: UNQUALIFIED, UTTERsheer follysheer ignoranceb: being free from an adulterant : PURE, UNMIXEDc: viewed or acting in dissociation from all elsein terms of sheer numbers2: marked by great and continuous steepness3: of very thin or transparent texture : DIAPHANOUSI cannot apply these definitions to this product except to say it appear qualified, and is utterly what it claims to be. It does not, insofar as I can glean, appear to be adulterated. "1.c" is not applicable at all. It is not easy to define its relevant angles as applies to steepness, but I would not call it particularly steep. It is not thin at all, not transparent even slightly, regardless of lighting conditions.So, we got a little off piste here, allow me to sum up. It's a great little sharpener.

Si eres una persona que se inicia en el mundo de los cuchillos o tal vez un conocedor que quiere siempre tener un afilador siempre a la mano es un producto excelente. Es de una manejo muy sensillo un par de tutoriales en video de cómo usarlo y listo. No es muy pesado siempre y cuando seas de esas personas que están acostumbradas a cargar artículos "por si acaso". Tiene 4 formas de afilar, definitivamente no sustituye a una piedra para afilar que usas con agua o algún aceite pero tampoco creo que seas de esos que quieres cArgsr con una.

Great for a quick tune-up which is exactly what it is supposed to be for.Bought this cause I'm staying with family for the next 6 months and their knives were so dull! It made quick work of their kitchen knives, bringing them back to a usable edge.I would NOT recommend this for your higher quality knives. The carbide is extremely aggressive on the blade, the ceramic itself works very well. Most premium blades will be forged with different angles. This is good for your pocket knives, kitchen aid/cuisinart kitchen knives etc. If you're into premium products like Damascus steel kitchenware then invest in a proper sharpening kit!That being said for a portable multi-angle sharpener you really can't ask for anything better.Build quality: 10/10: Metal casing, will last a long time, the edges for the sharpening slots are beveled away from them making it impossible to scrape your knives against the housing like some other sharpeners. The diamond sharpening rod has a magnetic catch so it doesn't come loose in your pocket.Effectiveness: 10/10: Works as advertised, in under 30 seconds you can take a knife from dull to usable no problem.Dynamic nature: 10/10: The diamond rod allows you to sharpen anything if you have the time, same with the serrated ceramic which can also be used on any blade.

Nov. 16, 2017:I misplaced my originally purchased item so I bought a 2nd one which should ensure finding the 1st one.It's a handy addition to anybody's arsenal of sharpening tools. I particularly like the taped rod for touching up serrationson several of my blades and multi-tools.===========================================================================================Pretty much what I expected to receive with this item after watching some YouTube videos and reading some reviews. It is close to being an all in one pocket tool with just one exception.I don't find the tungsten carbide sharpener to be as aggressive as some people have indicated, but then I don't bear down heavily on my blades when using this tool. I had one blade with some very minor nicks in the edge and half a dozen light strokes removed those easily. The ceramic sharpener then put a decent smooth edge on the blade with another half dozen light strokes.The tapered diamond rod is great for larger serrations and the beveled ceramic works nicely on small serrations. The only drawback to the beveled ceramic is that the case is too thick to easily allow for a final honing on the main blade or the back of the serrations. It can be done, but I find it awkward. For that task I prefer my Camillus which has a fully accessible fine ceramic piece on the bottom.I haven't decided yet on whether or not to install a lanyard through the generously sized hole to lengthen the gripping surface on that end.

Vorab, absolute Kaufempfehlung!Kann die negativen Bewertungen nicht nachvollziehen. Es ist kein Schneidschutz vorhanden, ok, aber sonst ist das Teil super.Kein billiger Plastikschrott, sondern absolut stabil und wertig!Hab schon einige Messerschärfer probiert, auch teure elektrische, mit dem Lansky Blademedic bin ich am zufriedensten. Der ist einfach in der Handhabung, benötigt keinen Strom ist schnell einsatzbereit, nimmt nicht viel Platz weg und funktioniert super. Klasse finde ich auch, dass der Abzieher magnetisch ist.Die Handhabung ist sehr einfach, aber zur Not liegt für ungeübte eine Anleitung bei, auch in deutscher Ausführung.Die Messer werden selbstverständlich richtig scharf! Und wer beim Schärfen aufpasst (wovon man ausgehen sollte), der schneidet sich dabei auch nicht...Wer also seine Messer einfach, schnell und zuverlässig schärfen möchte, kann hier bedenkenlos zuschlagen, es funktioniert einwandfrei.
