LARQ Bottle PureVis is a high quality double-wall insulated stainless steel water bottle with UV self-cleaning technology. For the 17oz, it was fairly lightweight despite being an insulated bottle. The finish on the outside of bottle has a nicely powder coated and feels durable. Operation is easy, just fill with water, screw on lid and press button on top to start the UV cleaning. It only takes 60 seconds. There is also an Adventure mode that performs a 3-minute cleaning cycle, if you are using it with unknown water sources like from a stream. The auto self-cleaning mode kicks in every 2 hours for 10 seconds for continuous cleaning. The water in LARQ bottle does stay cold for several hours and yes, the water does taste fresh and clean.COMPARED TO UV BRITEI've been using the UV Brite Water Bottle for several months now and can compare it with the LARQ bottle. What I liked better about the LARQ bottle is it feels more premium. It had a great unboxing experience, but for many this doesn't matter. I like the pulsing ring light on the LARQ over the ugly LED lights on the UV Brite. The drinking lip is also much taller on the LARQ, which I prefer.Where I think the UV Brite is better is the much lower price, $50 versus $125 for LARQ for similar functionality. Now, there has been more testing of the effectiveness on the LARQ bottle over the UV Brite, so that is something to consider. The UV Brite lid has a safety mechanism that disables the UV light if it's not screwed onto the bottle. This is something LARQ doesn't have, perhaps in a second revision they will add this. The UV Brite also charges with USB-C cable instead of micro-USB like the LARQ and has a silicone door that seals the USB port. The LARQ bottle does not have a flap, but it also doesn't need one as it is IPX7 certified. Finally, the UV Brite has a silicone pad on the bottom of bottle, whereas the LARQ does not. So in many ways, the UV Brite has improved on the design of the LARQ and is much more affordable. However, the LARQ bottle does look and feel like a more premium bottle, is lighter in weight and from my testing, it keeps water cooler for longer.

This bottle was a savior on my recent trip abroad. Due to a medical condition, I can drink only sterilized water, and the Lark bottle was a great find to make that happen while on the go. I still filled it with mineral water, as when I tried it with tap water the taste of chlorine was awful. It's easy to charge and it remains charged without problems. Anyway, I used to charge them (I bought two) every few days just in case. Excellent product, I recommend it.

The LARQ bottle has been my best $100 investment in hydration! The water tastes incredibly smooth and refreshing - it reminds me of the silky, pure taste you get from Fiji water. After using the UV-C cleaning cycle, there's this crisp, clean quality that makes regular tap water taste like premium bottled water.

I’ve watched an episode of Shark Tank with the Larq self cleaning water bottle pitch. I was a bit skeptical and curious about the product. But out of all my water bottles in the past, they all have this funky smell if you leave them in the shelf for too long. I ended up buying more water bottles when one of them started to smell funky.Just received the bottle last night and I have been start drinking water out of it. Out of the package, the mouth of the bottle has a rubbery smell and metallic smell too. So I rinsed it with hot boiling water. After dumping the hot water out, I quickly pour filtered Brita water into the bottle and started the uv light sanitizing cycle. In my experience, the normal mode is not strong enough. I can still taste the water a little funny like chlorine aftertastes. So I double tap the lid and initiate the adventure mode for 3 minutes. Still not good enough. I ended up repeating the adventure mode 3 more times. The chlorine taste completely vanishes. No more weird rubbery and metallic smell from the bottle lip. However, the saliva smell around the rim of the bottle lip does come back from time to time. Since, the UV light cannot directly hit the out rim of the lip, you will have to clean it manually from a wet paper towel...So I leave the bottle overnight, and every 2 hours, it automatically self cleaning for 10 seconds. At the end of the day. The water tastes even more refreshing! I imagine iced water would even taste better like cold spring water close to Evian!I will see if this bottle will continue to please me over the months to come!A little bit pricey but I tend to support the original inventor as they are more experienced in the product they invented. If you can afford the original creator’s self cleaning water bottle, I say go for it. Don’t support the copycats out there. I was surprised that Philip the electronic giant also launched a self cleaning water bottle. It’s slightly less expensive but I still go for Larq as they are the original inventor!update: a single charge will last around 4-5 days. The company claims a single charge will last for a month. However, during my single charge, I used adventure mode quite repetitively and that may be the sole reason that it didn't last long enough as it claims it should: 30 days.My second charge would try to use the adventure mode as little as possible and to see if it could last much longer.

This is my second bottle. Bought the first over a year ago and have not had any problems with smelly bottles since then. Got this one to get a smaller size.
