Excellent value for price. Not a professional user so it meets my basic needs without breaking the bank. Great stuff.

This quite handy, its small so it easily fits in my tool box but the main buttons are large enough that you can use this device wearing gloves. It measures just short of 200 ft and its accurate to within 2mm, thats very accurate. It stores up to 100 measurements.Very handy to anyones toolbox, makes a good gift. and a good price at $35

I use this for checking things when doing DIY projects around the home and it’s been way more convenient and handy than I’d thought! I haven’t needed some of the more advanced features but for simple distance measurements, it’s been great. I do tend to double-check with a regular tape measure and it’s accurate.

Laser measures are very convenient for quick measurements – as long as you don’t need to use them outside in bright daylight. My son had one of the first Bosch ones, rather fancy; I latter got a cheapo and both of us use the latter whenever the measurements are in straight line – it is just simpler for use.Now this one came, at an incredibly good price - and having Pythagorean mode; I was wondering how easy –or complicated – it will be for use. Pythagorean mode sounds very sophisticated – generally, it is a method of measuring vertical distances from aside by pointing at the top and the bottom of the measured line. The name comes from the Pythagorean theorem – the proportions of the sides of the right triangle. In the basic form – the one the old Bosch had – you measure one of the legs (sides around the right angle), and the hypotenuse (the longest side opposite the right angle), and the device calculates the other leg; you get to the ground and point to the top of the wall, then point along the floor to its bottom (presumably the floor and the wall are at right angle) – job done. The Lasgoo measure came with batteries (two Duracell AA’s) and the manual – a little terse, but adequate. I was a bit surprised at its side – it is tangibly larger than similar measures I’ve seen – you can see from the pictures; Its size is not an issue at all – in fact, it can be easier to read your numbers. It has not one, but four Pythagorean methods; the first one is the same as the one described above. Pretty straightforward – except I find working from the floor can be challenging: you are kneeling and trying to see your little red dot somewhere high. The second one is brilliant – and that is the one illustrated in the pictures. You do not one, but two triangles – but you don’t need to be on the floor, you can “shoot from the hip”. You point to the top of the measured object (say a wall) and take the first measurements – 15.797 ft in the pics; next you shoot straight horizontally into the same wall – the number in the top p just below the battery indicator show the angle, so you need to get it as close to zero as you can - 7.858 ft. Finally, you point the red dot to the bottom (the method indicator at the top centre always blink the line you need to measure next) – 8.241 ft. Then you get the total height of 16.188 (top leg is about 13.7 ft, the bottom one about 2.t ft –the height of the hip). The third is similar to the second, except you go both points above the horizontal leg – say, if you want to measure the height of the second floor window. The fourth one they actually call trigonometric method; it is essentially the same as the first one, coming from the floor, but with only one measurement. Since device knows the angle to the horizontal, there’s no need to measure the horizontal leg – it can be calculated.Neat device, easy to use, and very modestly priced – recommended!

The device is small and lightweight. It is very portable, ideal for taking to construction sites. The set does not come with a case, which is a shame. There is a wrist band, but having a case sp that you can put on your belt would have been handy. A lot of times you need your hands empty, and may not always have a pocket to store this for quick access. One important thing missing here is that there are no fractions of an inch when choosing the feet and inches setting. Our offices use the imperial system, so we tend to measure everything using the measurement. To get that accuracy, you need to change to the inches setting, but even then it is in decimals. It is inconvenient, and something that should be rectified, because accuracy is needed and those fractions are important in the field. This laser measure does have an impressive amount of functions. The tool can do calculations for you. From calculating areas to volume of a space, it is a useful function that can save the measurer some time. The device has a good base that allows it to rest of surfaces to measure. Though it can be a bit unbalanced due to the slim nature of it. A lot of times, construction surfaces are not always straight and true as well. I have used other laser measure tools where they have a built in level, or a piece that folds out to form a right angle. These tools would have helped increase the accuracy of the measurement, especially for long distances the variation in the distance could be huge if it is not pointed level. Though these features are more likely to be on more expensive measure tools, as this is really more of a budget device.Overall this is a decent laser measuring tool. It is simple to use, and for what it is, it works as expected.Four stars.
