It is of good quality steel and stamped / machined well, the handles are long enough to exert proper crimping force. I use it for a different purpose than the clamps it was design for, but it will work for them tiny J clams too (i think it is how they are called.)

This is a once in a long while tool. But its a great system. I made one long ago (PHOTO), but thought the longer handles would help..they do! I do several things with these besides bindings. One I made you can shape better if needed. In any case they are built to last the best way to join hardware wire type fenceing. The tool is as nice as any other with a better price.

I like how sturdy they are, but a fair percentage of the ones I use them on, the ends of the clip meet up rather than one end curling over the other the way they're supposed to. Not sure if that's my technique or not, but the cheap pliers don't do this.

I purchase several things on Amazon and was giving pretty in-depth reviews. From this point on, here's the new agenda…. if it works as advertised, is well made, meets or exceeds the description, is a value, and arrives in a fair amount of time, it will get a "star rating" equal to what my expectations were/are. If it doesn't meet these criteria, then I will most definitely and descriptively tell the short comings of the products and you as a consumer will not have to go through the trouble of buying the product without some background knowledge. If the sell pulls that item and relists under another description, I will put the exact same review on the seller's feedback page. Sellers have done this a couple of times in the past, and I was true to my word then as well as now. DR
