the compass has a tendency to stick. comes free with very slight mechanical agitation.do not think the thermometer is correct. was always off when compared to other thermometers. also, bubble present which would always block the reading until altered angle of device.

I was a little disheartened when I found one of them has so many air bubbles in that it no longer functions correctly. The other one seems to work fine.To the manufacturer, please do some QA and make sure there are no air bubbles that prevent this thing from working. If you are kind, you will send me a replacement.

I purchased these as stocking stuffers. Not one of them works. One even has the mercury floating. No two have the same temerature - way off. The compasses all point south instead of North. The only good thing is that Amazon is sending a refund with no return required.
