I was just hoping to get a better signal on my balcony, which is only about 25 feet from the router, with several walls on the way. Installed the device (was easy) but couldn't get a significantly better signal, despite following all the instructions carefully. Maybe the Wifi 5 vs Wifi 6 explains this, I don't know. Will "share" my iPhone connexion instead, it will be better. Returned it.

Does the job especially when bought on sale for $50… WiFi coverage was horrible upstairs.. purchased a power line adapter… changed the Linksys to access point mode and connected to a dead spot zone outlet (with power line adaptor)… now streaming movies and FaceTime calls have little to no load/lag times. Worth the investment over my own ISP charging $10/month extra to rent their own “pods” range extenders which had full “bars” but barely worked and lagged and had loading issues. Can’t say much for the 5 GHz WiFi, but the 2.4 GHz does the job for now.

Installed in 5 mins - did a firmware update and matched the SSID to my Linksys MR9600 - now the front of the house cameras have full wifi access (nest & wyze & MyQ)- works perfectly. The app tells you if you installed it in the correct location of the house - anyone can set this extender up.

I have a motorhome that parks next to my garage and a fence. To avoid a collision with the garage gutter overhang I installed a camera so I can see that area when parking on my i-phone mounted on my dash. I am on SHAW and the lag went from 12 seconds to less than 3 seconds at the end of my driveway. I do have to turn off mobile data so wi-fi stays on for the security camera image. When I don't need the extender I simply un-plug it when not parking RV because otherwise each time I pull up to the house the wi-fi automatically goes to wi-fi EXT. This means that I have to manually disconnect every time. So there are things to deal with that they don't tell you. This sure beats renting from SHAW Cable for $10 a month.

Due to the size of our house and the fact that the main Net connection is in the basement gettting wifi connection in the far reaches of the upper level of the house has always been a challenge. We tried a couple of other items, but this plug in repeater has solved our issues once and for all. Being dual band and auto detecting, whether it's a phone wanting 5g or a local DVD player or something else wanting 2.5 this device handles them all seemlessly without no tinkering needed. Two thumbs way up for this device. I guess third time was the charm.

Most important is that at time of purchase the specs claim 10,000 sq ft of coverage however, the specs on the box state it only covers 2,500 sq ft. Finally gave up on trying to get into the admin function to reset the password; figure we'd run with it as the extender is a subset of our router which is secured. The good news is that it was super easy to setup and use. Plugged it in, hit the auto-pair button and instant connection. So far it's working seamlessly with our system. Just remember that for every unit you want connected to the extender, go into that units' wifi settings and add/pick the _Ext (using auto-pair, the password is what ever you have for your system)

I had a great experience with Linksys WRT3200ACM in the past, so when I was looking a WiFi range extender I decided to get a Linksys device instead of other brands. It has been an utter disappointment so far. Speed and signal boosting isn't good at all and worse the firmware is buggy. It shutdown randomly and power on cycles had huge delays that I had to practically shelf it. When I decided to give it a retry after couple of months, It wouldn't properly reset to factory settings. I have to reset it countless time before it became configurable again and surprise surprise, then it wouldn't connect to 2.4G network at all. For me, this has been a complete waste of money.

PLEASE NOTE: This is not "Plug and Play". You will need to have some knowledge of routers and wifi to get your range extender setup properly. For easiest installation, plug the extender into a wall outlet between 0-15 feet from your router. Wait for a blinking yellow light, then go to this page: [...] and follow the rest of the instructions. It's much easier than the written ones included with the product. It took some finagling to get my range extender set up as I was trying to do it via WPS, and it just wasn't connecting. Once I went to the Linksys product setup page, things got a lot easier. The product itself is light, despite being large and as a result it can be plugged in securely upside down if plug space is an issue. You will have to connect to new networks to take advantage of the extension, but they will simply be your standard 2.4 or 5G networks names with _EXT at the end (see photo).Signal strength will be more noticeably improved in areas where it was slowest previously. Garage, backyard, driveway, etc...UPDATE: It's been a few weeks and the connection has been very stable. A couple of interruptions were noticed one day, but one day only. The light has stayed a solid green.
