I love the concept love the product and I am so delighted that diaper genie is also peddling to us childless people and creating a product for pet parents! I feel super included and very impressed at the quality of this litter genie.This replaced enclosed trash bin I was using from Ikea and it's the perfect upgrade. The double seal mechanism + plastic bag keeps the odors trapped inside the litter genie completely and you cannot smell the litter clumps at all when its closed. This bin has made the experience of cleaning my litter and keeping the laundry room (where I keep my cats litter box) clean so much easier.I'm personally not a fan of their plastic scoop but I do love to use the scoop holder they have on the side. It's very convenient to keep all my tools contained like this. Overall, its a luxury for sure and not essential for your litter but if you don't mind splurging a bit this really makes litter chores a lot more pleasant.

This aspect is particularly valuable for households that struggle with food waste or pet refuse, as it contributes to a cleaner, more pleasant living space. I found this to be a significant improvement over traditional garbage pails, which often become a source of frustration due to lingering odors.However, my experience with the Itter Genie was not without its minor drawbacks. The opening of the pail is somewhat smaller than I had anticipated. While it effectively holds a substantial amount of waste, the limited size can make disposal a bit cumbersome, especially when dealing with larger items. This could present a challenge if you're accustomed to tossing in larger pieces of trash without any fuss. It’s a small quibble, but one that is worth considering if you're someone who frequently discards bulkier refuse.

As a household with both resident and fosters, we are always eager to test out pet products and we already have a product similar to the “ Litter Genie Standard Pail Includes a Jumbo Refill That can Last up to 4 Months, a Scoop, and a Scoop Holder.” So we’re able to do a review to compare the 2 products.We absolutely love our other litter locking device, it really helps keep odour under control, especially when you have multiple cats in a household. We don’t have any other practical way to collect litter between daily scooping and when we take it out to compost, so we need a good way to contain the odour until it’s ready to be taken out, so this is a well designed and constructed device that saves us and makes it possible to keep our kitties as well as have fosters.The one drawback is that the litter genie uses a proprietary refill design that requires you to purchase their bags/refills. They’re not actually bags, but rather one long bag that you pull out as needed and then cut off and tie off as needed. I won’t go into the details, but it’s a pretty slick set up. I would just suggest not letting it get too full between taking it out, it gets harder to remove from the container the larger and heavier it gets. The refills are filled with a long bag, but it’s not compostable. Because we use compostable litter, we prefer to use compostable bags. We’re hoping this will be a future consideration for the Litter Genie refills.Highly recommend this for convenience! This is great for any household with any amount of cats (I would keep one close to each litter box if possible) and would be a great gift for a household with a new cat!

Now I've heard of the diaper genie but I had not heard about the Litter Genie so I had to try the Standard Pail. Trying to manage 6 cats I have tried many different things so I was hopeful. The instructions are inside on how to open it so that was funny trying to get in and the first step in the instructions are how to open it. It is simple enough and it does eliminate the smell since it is a two compartment system that you dump in one, and then release into another after closing the lid so as to eliminate the smell that you get when opening a pail with a lid (which I tried for some time). Here's the thing, with 6 cats I don't know when it is full. Obviously, I am only going to get a few days worth but it does save me a few trips up and down stairs but I don't know when exactly to empty before it is too late since once it can't be released into the bottom compartment, it is so much harder to get out and replace the bag. I do wish they had an indentation on the bottom of the pail that allows you to step on it, to hold down the pail so you can open the top with one hand. That would be ideal. Now I have several days worth of poop in an enclosed area and I don't smell anything yet so for me just to be able to have a few days of not constantly going up and down stairs carrying waste outside works for me. But again, a foot cubby at the bottom would be ideal and a way to know where/when to stop to be able to access the cutter inside easily.

Much like a diaper genie for babies the is a litter genie for cats. The unit comes with everything you need for a 4 month supply. The unit itself, the refills bags, a scoop and a scoop holder. Very easy to use and very little installation needs to be done. Effectively helps odour in the house and makes cleanup a lot easier, once full you can pull it out and tie it off and dump the whole bag. Since I have 2 cats this doesn’t last me as long as advertised, but already help lessen waste instead of constantly using poop bags. Doesn’t take up too much room and can be operated single handed.
