Installation Procedure
Step 1: disconnect Battery.
Step 2: determine Negative Cable.
Step 3: choose Suitable Mounting Position For Switch.
Step 4: both Kits Have Cable Terminal Ends Needed To Complete Shut-off Switch Installation.
Step 5: install Switch.
Step 6: reconnect Battery And Check For Correct Operation.
Note:
- High current may be dangerous, please use it carefully.
- Do Not Attach Positive And Negative Cables To Shut off Switch At The Same Time. Battery Explosion May Result.
- Be sure ignition switch is in off position before turning shut-off switch to off position to eliminate voltage spikes that could damage ignition components.

after spending a great deal of time hooking it up it does not shut off so now what do I do I have all the battery cables cut and rerouted now if I have to cut power to my motor home I unhook the battery

This switch is high end but too big for my project. I would recommend this purchase for safe power disconnect.

The overall construction is good from outward appearance on the bench. It's a heavy looking switch but will it pass the heavy duty use and the test of time? Just installed it so I'll report status update in a few months of use. It's probably worth about the $17 I paid for it.The handle turns fine, clicks into place in each position. I can feel the detent drop into a positive lock position in each on/off position. The main shaft moves in/out about 1/8" so handle and shaft may not but directly interfaced to the contact plate inside. I see how some reviewers say the metal over the backplate to body crimp seems a bit weak and how this could fail over time. If the backplate body/crimp fails, internal switch fails, or switch gets hot, I will take it apart and perform a failure review of the component and update this review.For now, it's on my car and I will test quality.

We bought another car. We’re keeping my 97 Jeep Wrangler. I would not be driving the Jeep a whole lot. Install the switch to save the battery. Easier install and it works great. It’s pretty heavy and well build.It worked great for me.

I mounted this disconnect switch in my truck camper to prevent battery drain while not in use. Easy to install and connect. On a recent off-grid camping trip, the switch failed to connect and close the circuit to allow power to flow. I had to rewire my system and bypass the switch in order to have electricity for my camper lights. Thankfully I had my tool kit and was able to bypass the switch.

Seems to be very heavy duty. Slight slop in switch. But seems solid in contacts. Time will tell. Comes with locking squash washer. Mounting stud is NOT keyed. Put washer between switch body and mount panel. I also used a touch of removable lock tight.
