The lumbar support is actually in the correct place. Most are all the way down and push your butt forward. This one doesn’t. Having the lumbar higher allows for the correct spine curvature. Most of the other ones that I have bought ended up in the landfill. This one is a keeper!

Originally, I didn't understand how to use this product. I thought that this back rest should sit flush to the seat and there was no support. I did some research, and now I know, so I'll share it. The widest part at the bottom should fit into the small of the back. So I raised it up, using the straps criss-crossed vertically. My kitchen chair backs are 'open' with 3 wooden slats going across horizontally, so that's how I got it to work. Now I'm seeing the full benefit of this for pain relief and posture support.
