Overall, it's a decent unit. If you are trying to bind some large documents that can take quite a while as it struggles to cut through a lot of pages at once but for the price of it and included combs I think it's a decent deal deal.

I am absolutely thrilled with my recent purchase of the MAKEASY Binding Machine, 21-Hole. The design is also sleek and modern, making it a great addition to my office setup.Setting up the machine was a breeze. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, allowing me to quickly get started with my binding projects. I greatly appreciate the 21-hole punch design, as it gives me the flexibility to bind documents of various sizes without any hassle. This binding machine truly excels in its binding capabilities. The punches are crisp and clean, leaving my documents looking professional and polished. The binding process itself is smooth and seamless, resulting in perfectly bound booklets every time. The binding comb is easy to load and can accommodate a decent number of pages, making it ideal for both small and large projects. What sets this MAKEASY binding machine apart from others is its user-friendliness. I used to either drive all the way to the office to use the machine there or just tuck my paperwork info a folder of some sort. Now I coil bind all of my client reports. Generally they are super impressed. For the price, this is just a great investment in my opinon. No issues with use. You do need to empty out all of the bits on occassion tho. I didn't realize that until I picked it up to see what was wrong.....after I cleaned up the mess, I realized it might be better to be more proactive on to cleaning it out LOL

Have a high end 19 hole punch but needed 21 hole for a project, so picked this. It doesn't punch holes that are clean and flat. The whole machine warps as you punch, even on only six pages. And the alignment of the holes shifts if you adjust the back margin, which doesn't make any sense, so the alignment marks on the table aren't useful either. Do lots of test punches to get the alignment adjusted correctly. Also, the mechanism to open the coils for binding keeps dropping several coils off the right end.Got the project finished, but probably won't use it any more.

Broke while making calendars for my family. Haven't even finished 7 calendars yet (I have another 11 to go) and it broke and won't punch through all of the holes. Only does 6 of 19 holes. I wish I could contact seller directly instead of go through this review thing. I guess I shouldn't buy a cheap item but I really can't afford to spend more on it when buying all the ink and paper for the calendars too. Trying to do something nice for my family and I can't even finish.

This is great for small jobs - not too many pages and not a great many copies. 30 copies of a 40 page presentation would be a challenge. In a home office it allows me to open a document brief to insert additional pages and to assemble a tidy document compendium or two for my own use. If I need more, I can go to the office where there is heavy duty gear which can handle the big jobs (size and number of copies) but this unit is very handy for the many little jobs which allows me to avoid going downtown any more than is necessary.

I purchased a different binding machine that I had to return because it didn't work, so checked the reviews on this one and it worked great! Easy to understand instructions, and worked like a charm! The only thing it doesn't seem to punch a huge amount of paper at once, like they say it punches 12 I put maybe 8 and it seemed tough to punch. I bought this machine to bind legal documents for my work. I am very happy with how easy it is to use.

This book binding machine is excellent! and so easy to use. So far I have made around 10 books with no problems whatsoever. using the combs that came with it, I have made both A4 and A5 books (by just cutting the combs down to size to fit the A5 books). The combs that come with it are very small though so I doubt if I'll use 100 of them, and I needed to buy some bigger ones to use for the bigger books so it's a shame it doesn't come with a mixture of different size combs instead of 100 small ones? Anyway, It easily punches the holes in 3 sheets of paper or 2 sheets of card with no problem but more that that and it feels like it is having a little difficulty, but I love it! No more need to get my binding done elsewhere, plus having the machine at home means I can add or remove pages easily myself plus make my own books without waiting (or paying)! Combs are available in lots of sizes and colours and quantities, and are cheap. Add acetate covers front and back or laminated front and back covers, and you have professional looking books. Very highly recommended! However, it is what it is. It doesn't fold away neatly after you have used it, it has a big handle sticking up and a line of pointing spikes. So, after you have finished using it, it needs to be stored away in a safe place, away from where children might play +++++

I've had no problems making comb-bound booklets with 8.5x11 (US letter) pages. Use the included cardboard sheet to do 6-8 test punches to clean the grease from the teeth. Slide the red size selector to the far left and ~10 pages punch easily. The teeth holes line up nicely within the 8.5" page length and all you need to do is trim the comb on the end (it is designed for 21 holes). The included 3/8" comb binders can hold about 20 pages if you are patient. The only caution I have is to only punch 1 sheet of clear plastic presentation covers at a time. The plastic is gummy enough that the teeth won't cut two or more at a time. One at a time, it works fine. I cut a full box of 100 plastic cover pages to test this unit before moving onto paper (10 sheets at a time). Very pleased with the value for money.

I was a little worried initially, a couple of the combs were bent when I took the unit out of the box, but I was able to bend them back with my hand.Otherwise, I followed the instructions to punch at least 7 sets of holes in the cardboard that came with the unit to remove the manufacturing oil. I did about 10 sets to be safe.I quickly punched and bound a PDF manual I printed off a couple weeks ago using the 19 hole setting for 8.11 x 11 sized paper and voila. Worked perfectly. The density/weight/thickness/composition of the paper will determine how many sheets you can punch. I'd say maybe 10-11 sheets at 20 weight max per punch (to be safe & not break anything) and it goes down from there as the weight increases. You can certainly punch cardstock and 10 mil lamination, I punched 10 mil laminated 40 weight cardstock without issue but you'll be punching one page at a time. The handle is easily removed for storage and the spacing appears equal with the punch and comb. All in all for household and light office/school use this is a fine machine. The housing is plastic but mechanically inside when I took a peek, everything appeared to be metal. So with care and not over exertion, this machine should last.Just to stress, this is not a high capacity, high volume office unit, this is a home/small office/light school use binding machine, it's great for small projects and light/occasional use but if you're going to be putting together dozens of books a day or want to punch 40 or 100 sheets at a time, don't get this.I highly recommend this unit.
