Great head for any whipper snipper super easy to change lines, no more coiling reels to only have to stop and fix it just keep some extra lines precut and take 2 mins or less to change them and be right back to work

There's no list of compatible edgers, just "universal fits most" so I took a gamble and it was money well spent. Nothing else fits my old Stihl FSA 85 except another original garbage bump head.Installation was a no-brainer. It comes with a range of spacers, nuts and bolts to suit different machines, of which I used one nut.It could fit a slightly thicker shaft to mine and probably would have centred when tightened, but I took the opportunity to put a bit of heat-shrink over the shaft and used a different washer to make it perfect.Six lines instead of two makes it a slightly noisier with more load on the motor, but neither was a problem. The path of destruction of the lines is a wider than my previous. Vertical edging isn't as precise. It absolutely ripped through my heavy test. The sample line included was great and I want to buy a roll of that stuff.Any short line head uses more line than a bumper and requires more effort to reload, but it was still very quick and easy. A supply of precut lengths would help, but I used roughly ZERO line on a yard which usually takes five or six bumps. The build looks sturdy but only time will tell if the whole thing needs replacing after getting dragged over the concrete, which is less likely due to it's low profile with no bumping required.Overall, highly recommended. Can't wait to use it again.

The trimmer head came with reasonably good instructions and two full sets of pre cut lines as well as enough hardware to install on pretty much any trimmer. The pivoting string holders due reduce the number of broken lines and entanglements with small fence posts and such. There is one downside that takes a lot of getting used to - the trimmer head sits much closer to the shaft where it attaches as well as the string being very close to the ground. As such, it is much more sensitive to angle change and until you are used to using it, you'll likely scalp the lawn you are edging right to bare dirt. If you are really anal about the appearance of your lawn and like the manicured look, this may not be for you. If you don't mind the odd brown circle around the perimiter of your lawn, then it's a reasonable replacement for the OEM trimmer head.

I have been using this trimmer head on my Echo trimmer for several years and found it to be a very pleasant replacement for the typical two line bumper style head. Maximum line is listed as .095" but I've been using .105 line and it works very well. I measured the length of line I wanted and while watching TV, took a spool of line and cut it up into lengths ready to be used. I normally trim for an hour to an hour and a half at a time and the remaining line is still pretty good and usable but before starting to trim, I always install a fresh set of line which takes only a couple of minutes. I bought a new head because the old one I've used for a few years broke one of the line holding swivels. Some have listed a line breaking problem and I have never experienced a broken line with this head. Trimmer line can become brittle as you really don't know how old it is even when you first buy it. Have been told that leaving the line in a bucket with a damp sponge for 48 hours will refurbish its flexibility. I highly recommend this unit. It in inexpensive, functions very well and much simpler to use than the bump style trimmer heads. A verity of bolts and adapters are included to fit most trimmer brands. Happy trimming!

We had the traditional wind up line that took forever to load and constantly broke. This is amazing! The install is simple and the line cut through thick weeds in our back field without breaking. A fence post is what finally broke a line or two - but I was reloaded with a fresh line in about 2 minutes. If you are using the old feed through and wind up style, this is a game changer.

I bought an echo (one of the cheaper ones) weed trimmer with a rapid change trim head, the kind where you just push string through and it locks into place. I LOVED it. It runs good, and the rapid / push through idea is genius. I highly recommend trying one of those echos if you get a chance. After a couple of years, though..the little push-through holes where you load the string in got too loose and string kept flying out. That was kind of a bummer. Now in all fairness, i might have used a non-echo line that loosened those holes up, in which case it isnt echo's fault. But I have a feeling that this is just something that will eventually happen to all of these, if you use it on a regular basis. So..I took a look and didn't really see any way to fix the little clips and I looked online to see how much echo wanted for a new head and it was nearly 40$, which was way too much in my mind considering I got the weed trimmer on sale for around $110 or 150$ and the head is basically a piece of plastic with some metal clips in it. So I started looking for alternatives and found this baby for about 20$. I just finished installing it and used it for the 1st time. So while I can't comment on the durability I CAN say that it works GREAT. I deducted one star of the ease-of-install rating because none of the nuts that came with it fit my echo shaft perfectly..so it is possible the one nut that was supposed to work was either missing or cut poorly. (It comes with a few different nuts for different brands and models). But , luckily I was able to use the nut from taking the original head off , as it was able fit into the slot and get tight. So, when you remove your head - hang on to the nut just in case. You have to drop the nut into the new head and then tighten it by hand using the head as the wrench, and like I said my nut dropped in and barely fit. All in all, this was very easy to install (4/5) and a GREAT value (5/5) and If it lasts the whole year, I'll come back and update the durability rating. But I just used it for the 1st time and it cuts GREAT. Its a bit heavier than my original I think, so I am just using 1 out of the 3 cutting lines. If you have a small weed trimmer like I do, I don't think youll see much benefit out of using all 3 and you might get more rpm's from just using 1 or 2. Also if you just use 1 or 2 and one breaks, youll have a "back up". Just my thoughts. I would buy this product again. I would recommend this product to others. And, I am even thinking about buying one for a backup in case i break it (i'm pretty hard on stuff) mid-season so I can just keep truckin'. Buy this, you will NOT regret it. If youve got a regular bump or auto head , my recommendation becomes even stronger. Youll 1) never go back to a bump head or auto head with a spool and 2) youll kick yourself for not changing to this type of head sooner. A+ product...and I rarely write reviews.
