Good powerful amp, there is zero hiss even with the volume up.Sound is really great and clear, small size goes well for using with desktop pc.My only complaints about this product:- Puts out some heat when idle so not so power efficient.- When is usb mode the volume control in windows doesnt work, you need to use the volume control on the amp.

I only used this with my desktop pc, through the optical port, to a pair of Bose satellites. This amp was never abused or driven hard. All of my equipment is plugged into a power conditioning UPS, this amp included. While it worked it seemed like a decent little amp. There is no possible way this amp is 100 watts, but it's loud and clear enough for business use. After 2 years of very conservative use, it's smoked with sparks and flames shooting out of it. The only cause for this is bad design and construction, no two ways about it.

I was in the market for a small amp for my desk. I did see a few alternatives with remotes and/or digital control interfaces, but I did not want to fuss with anything. This Micca amp stood out as it had hard physical buttons, lots of input options, and most importantly, it looked great. The power output is a bit on the weak side but for a desk use, it wasn't going to be a huge issue. In fact, it can get louder than it needs to. I normally put it at around 20% volume and I think it's pretty loud for a normal music listening experience. The product feels really solid overall and there is no hiss with my Micca RB42s. Also I really appreciate the subtle LED indicator on the front. The input selection switches are a bit too stiff for my liking but that's more of a personal preference. Nothing wrong with the product itself.A lovely product, overall. Would definitely recommend!

First one i got had something loose inside and the second one had loose left speaker connection (the positive was not fixed to the case). Both of them did work and sounded ok but i was disappointed to get 2 defect in a row. The build quality is good but i feel like there is no quality control.

Read all of the positive reviews and agree on most points. Tha amp is super small and perfect for a desktop set up. I have mine hooked up to the matching Micca Covos. More than adequate for a desktop set up. Add a subwoofer if you need more bass. Very simple to use and sounds clean. Overall happy with my purchase.

I would not consider myself an audiophile, but I do like my audio to be clean and smooth which wasn’t the case with the desktop setup I previously had sitting on my desk. There wasn’t really anything wrong with the product I was using, but it was more for ease of portability rather than sound quality.I spend a lot of time at my desk and workbench and decided that it would be worthwhile in beefing up my audio setup a bit so I started investigating my options. Since this wasn’t intended to be my main system, I was looking for a somewhat low-cost setup. There are a fair amount of compact stereo options on the market, but I was looking for a small footprint, integrated AMP/DAC solution that I could easily place on my desktop and connect multiple input sources to including my computer and S/PDIF from a TV. I also wanted something that would accommodate a subwoofer connection.I investigated several options available that would address my requirements and decided to give the Origin AD250 a try despite not being at all familiar with Micca products at the time. I will admit that I checked Micca out quite a bit before deciding to give them a shot. I was looking at putting together a stack comprised of multiple components from Schiit Audio, but the total cost of the stack would have exceeded my budget and would have been a larger footprint than I was trying to accommodate. So far, I am very happy with my decision to go with the Micca Origain AD250. I really like the feel of the build quality especially the volume control knob which is step-less and super smooth. There are 2 switches on the front of the AD250. One switch allows you to select between digital or analog signal while the other switch allows selection between USB or S/PDIF digital input. So this gives you a possibility of 4 switch positions with 3 separate choices (analog input / digital input using either USB or S/PDIF). One thing I should probably mention is that the power brick is large and might be a deal breaker for some. It’s much larger than the AD250 itself. This wasn’t a problem for me since I mounted the power brick underneath my desk.My setup also includes a pair of Polk Audio RTI A1 bookshelf speakers and a Polk Audio PSW10 10” power subwoofer. So far I am happy with my setup given my budget and use.Key Components:- Texas Instrument TPA3116D2 amplifier chip- C-MEDIA CM6510B USB interface - Wolfson WM8740 DAInputs:- Analog stereo (Use: connect input from PC, smartphone, tablet, CD player or MP3 player)- USB digital audio (Use: connect input from PC or turntable)- Optical S/PDIF digital audio (Use: connect input from TV or other audio equipment)Outputs:- Stereo speaker output - 5-way binding posts for supporting speaker wire with banana plugs, pins, spades, or bare wire (insertion/wrapped)- Pre-out signal for subwoofer - 3.5mm to stereo RCA--- 50W x 2 power output @ 4Ω > 0.5% total harmonic distortion--- 30W x 2 power output @ 8Ω > 0.5% total harmonic distortionImportant Notes: [1] The Origain AD250 only supports PCM audio and does not support surround sound formats such as Dolby or DTS so make sure that your optical output source is set to PCM. [2] Neither Bluetooth or Wireless connectivity is supported. [3] Bad choice if all you want to do is use headphones, there many better products to use for headphones including the Micca OriGen G2.Issues:Some reviewers have mentioned experiencing issues such as out of phase and noise issues with the optical input (this will occur if you don’t set your optical input source to PCM), unbalanced sound, power pop/click when turning power on/off. For the most part I haven’t experienced any of these issues. The only minor issue I have encountered thus far is an occasional low sounding pop when I switch from an analog to optical audio source at a high volume.

Got this to drive Micca's MB42X speakers. It's a perfect match for them! The reason I bought this amp is because it has a USB input that functions as a DAC with its own driver, which means the amp shows up in your sound settings as a separate playback device. What this means is that when you turn the amp on, it will connect and automatically become the default playback device, and when you turn it off, it automatically disconnects and returns to your previous default device without having to change any settings manually. I have a sound card with some studio headphones connected, and this feature means I can switch between my speakers and headphones on a whim just by turning the amp off and on. PERFECT! No need to touch any cables or enable/disable anything in Windows in order to switch between my speakers and headphones. (Set the volume slider to 100 in Windows as well, although it doesn't seem you can control the volume using it with USB).Build quality is fantastic, and the volume knob feels very smooth and solid. Power on/off is controlled by turning the knob, and turning it all the way to the left clicks it off. I've always preferred this to a dedicated power switch. The power light on the front is a dim red when turned on, which means it isn't overly bright and distracting while powered on. Input selection switches are small and solid as well, and all of the ports and inputs on the back feel solid too. I use banana plugs for my speaker wire. There is no hissing or noise coming from my speakers at any time while using this amp. Sound quality feels very full and vibrant using this amp, and the chip it uses is known for being high quality. Some people mention a "pop" when powering the speakers off and on, and I have not noticed this at all. Both left and right channels are balanced at all volumes from what I can tell, and I have not experienced any distortion at all using this amp. I usually keep the knob between 9 and 12 o'clock when using it, but it can really crank these MB42X speakers to crazy volumes in a small room when turned up.I have not tested the subwoofer pre-out yet, but it's nice knowing that adding a powered sub later on will be easy! That's another reason I chose this amp.All in all, this is a good amp made by a good brand, and I highly suggest it. It has the inputs to be used with almost any modern device, meaning you can use it with your TV, PC, and portable device. It comes with an RCA to 3.5mm cable as well. The input selection is nice to have, as you can have multiple devices connected at once and switch between them easily without unplugging anything. Most of the Chinese amps under $100 only have one set of RCA inputs, so you can only plug in one device at a time. The cheaper version of this amp is like that, so spending the extra $20 makes this one worth the price. I may move mine over to my TV at some point, assuming I don't get a full 5.1 receiver down the line.I'd highly recommend this amp to anyone looking for a desktop / PC solution. The USB functionality really makes this amp integrate seamlessly with Windows, and the both the build and audio quality are fantastic. Definitely worth it over cheaper $50 amps.

I checked a lot of reviews on YouTube as well as on Amazon before I purchased. I'm very happy with the products, got them 2 days earlier than expected and found the whole process about as professionally done as I could have hoped. I'm sure I will be back to Amazon for future audio gear especially. The speakers are quite accurate and the amp offers inputs for analogue or SPDIF connections which suited my needs perfectly. The OriGain is offered in a simplified version without the DAC but for the small extra expense, this version provides better flexibility.

This is an excellent amplifier for a small studio or for your computer desktop. It is very small and it gives a great sound. I use it for my computer using USB audio and for my analog radio tuner. It works well with both. Note that the USB audio cable must be plugged directly to the computer. In my case it didn't when connected through a USB hub. Note that the sound is very flat. It is expected from studio equipment. If you want more flavor to your sound then maybe you will prefer a none professional equipment. It is a matter of taste.

Bought this little device to mate to my Micca COVO-S and powered Kanto SUB6. It has exceeded my exceptions. Beautiful metal case and knob, gold-plated connectors, subtle red LED on front.I connect it via USB to my laptop. When I'm browsing the internet I turn off the amp and audio does through my laptop speakers. When I'm ready for music I turn on the amp and Windows automatically transfers sound to my speaker set-up. Works seamlessly. One thing to note - you won't be able to adjust the volume through the computer when using a DAC. You'll need to use the volume knob on the device. Not an issue with this product, it's true for all DACs.It has a pre-out/sub-out, which is EXTREMELY difficult to find on small amps. This is an excellent feature that allows you to connect to a powered subwoofer. Without it you would need to split the analog signal that enters the DAC. Not ideal.

Got this integrated amp for my dad's desk but I think I have used it more than him so far. I wanted something that he could use with both his computer and a Chromecast audio. This accomplishes that with a clean sleek look from a brand I like. It is powering some Polk T15's with ease and can get to unnecessarily loud levels without audible distortion (Specified at 30W x 2 into 8 Ohm, less than 0.5% total harmonic distortion.) I find the preamp output to be a very useful feature and use it to control a Polk PSW10 subwoofer. Unfortunately the RCA to 3.5mm adapter that comes with the amp is only about five and a half feet long so I had to use an extension to get signal to the subwoofer.Because I use this with a Chromecast audio and want to be able to play music at any time from my phone, I just leave this amp powered at half volume all of the time. It gets only slightly warm and there is no audible hiss unless you get very close to the speakers. This also avoids the issue another reviewer pointed out which is that this amp has a power on "pop" sound. Many amps employ a circuit to eliminate or at least diminish this pop but unfortunately this amp does not. I tried using the optical output of the Chromecast so that I would be using the DAC in the amp but I found the sound quality was no better than the DAC output of the Chromecast and in fact I slightly preferred the sound of the latter which seemed slightly more sharp and engaging. The other issue with the optical connection, which another reviewer mentioned, is that there are loud "clicking" sounds, which happened for me when changing tracks with the Chromecast. For this reason I would suggest avoiding the optical input of the Micca AD250 for at least this source component which is unfortunate. On the other hand I found using the built in DAC with a Windows 10 computer very satisfying. All I had to do was plug this amp in with the included usb cable and it just worked. No downloading drivers. No sound settings to change. Just plug it in and turn it on and you have sound coming through your speakers. Turn it off and the computer switches back to its default speaker output. Of course I found the best audio quality from this amp only by playing FLAC files using Foobar2000 with WASAPI drivers but it still sounds good from lower quality sources. The quality of the amp is quite good and I like the feel of it but when it arrived I noticed one of the speaker terminals was loose. It was easy enough to open up the amp and tighten the terminal but this really shouldn't have been necessary. Overall I would say this amp does it's job and does it well if you are setting it up in a 2.1 system with a computer or an analog device as a source. The optical input may be usable with some devices but it was not with mine and you have to deal with the turn on pop. I would like to recommend this product more wholeheartedly but it has its quirks and I would prefer that it had a lower price because for $100 you can get other Chinese brand amps that do the same thing for a similar price with potentially less issues. However if I had to go back and do it again I would still choose this amp because in my situation I was able to circumvent its issues and I just like the visual style of it and the tactile feel of its controls.
