Amazon.ca Product Description

Milwaukee's 6370-21 13 Amp 8-Inch Metal Cutting Circular Saw delivers faster, cooler, cleaner, more affordable metal cutting. Forget the showers of hot metal chips and sparks that were once an aerial threat on metal construction jobsites. The 6370 shears the metal, producing a virtually spark-free wake and cool, burr and scorch-free edges that don't require post-cut finishing. Cool cut waste, in the form of metal shavings, is effectively contained with a durable magnesium blade shield and channeled into the saw's integral ChipTank. Cool cutting also means that materials can be handled almost immediately following a cut, reducing downtime. Driven by a powerful, 13 amp (1-3/4 max HP), 3,700 RPM motor and equipped with a full grill of razor-sharp, cermet-tip teeth, the 6370 tears through tough cuts without hesitation. Count on up to 10 gauge sheets and 1/4-inch steel plate cuts, all day, every day. More extreme cuts, even up to 3/4-inch steel plate, are possible when proper operating techniques are used. Any way you slice it, cold cutting metal means value. Internal test results indicate that our new metal cutting blades last a minimum of 25 times a standard abrasive wheel. Specially-formulated cermet tip metallurgy and tooth geometry ensure these incredible blades cut faster, stay sharp longer, and resist more impacts for a significantly lower cost per cut ($0.20 versus $0.60). To keep on target, the new 6370 features a set of on-board sight-line and blade point-of-entry indicators along with a slot in the saw's shoe for a rip fence. It is also the first and only corded metal cutting saw to feature a lower guard retraction lever. Plunge cuts are fast and furious with this exciting new tool. The lever's location ensures that the user has both hands firmly on the saw throughout the cut. The 6370-21 includes the 8-inch Metal Cutting Saw, Metal Cutting Blade (48-40-4515), Hex Blade Wrench and Impact Resistant Carrying Case.

Scie de qualité, la meilleure sur le marché. Triste que milwaukee la discontinué pour laisser place au modèle à Batterie. Je l'ai acheté avant que la disponibilité devienne nulle.

Our company purchased this saw as a backup when our original Milwaukee metal cutting saw (model 6370-20) finally needed repair. Steel cutting is very heavy work and we used our saw for 4 years, about 50 hours a year. The clean, straight, quick, and cool cuts all reduce our labor cost a lot. When we are working with steel, we are usually also working overtime. Our employees like to use it and are not afraid of it. It is easy to use. I have personally cut 3/8" and 1/2" hard (American made) structural I-beam steel (lengthwise) with it (although normal for us is 1/8" thick mild steel). 3/8" and 1/2" is way above what this saw is rated to do, but with a little cutting oil, frequent saw cool-down rests, and some patience it got the job done - and then kept working for another 4 years on regular duty applications. The Milwaukee blade that comes with the saw is the best for use with this saw, but we have tried a few others that were less expensive and found them to be acceptable. Losing teeth seems to kill the blade faster than actual tooth wear, so abusing the saw and letting the blade get too hot will cost money when the teeth start coming off. Not to mention it doesn't cut very good without teeth. If you have a lot of cutting to do in a short time span without other things to do in between, you might consider two saw so you can alternate them for cool down periods. That should make the saws last a bit longer, and the blades will last much longer (which is where your highest cost is since the blades are expensive and are a wear item). Invest in good blades. Don't overheat them. Your wallet will thank you.

I just used this saw to process two 5 foot by 12 foot sheets of aluminum - one of them was 3/8 of an inch thick, the other was 1/2 inch. I left them on the palette they arrived on, one on top of the other and used a piece of squared up wood and clamps to create a rip fence. This means I was cutting 5 foot runs of 7/8 of an inch of 6061-T6.This saw performed really damn well. I stalled it out at least once per span, but I am more than willing to blame the operator (that would be me) and the pretty extreme cutting I was doing - nearly an inch of metal. I couldn't detect when a stall was coming, unlike with other saws I've used where you can kind of feel it and ease off. The trick I came up with was to pause every 3 seconds and let the blade get back up to full speed. When I did this it worked quite well. But a stall is really not a big deal - unplug it, reset the breaker and go.Between every cut I emptied out the chip box and blew the whole thing down with compressed air. I would run the air and saw for awhile to really cool it down and then cut it again. I wore ear and eye protection but unlike other metal cutting I've down I didn't find that the chips that came off this were particularly lethal and chip collector really gets a lot of them. If you are doing aluminum outside I suggest putting down a tarp or the like, it will make clean up easier.I need this saw to run my business and so far it's performing flawlessly.

The saw looks and feels great, however, I am not happy that the saw was previously opened and there is a baseball sized dent in the saw case.

I own a glass company and a large part of our work is commercial storefront windows and entrances. We work extensively with aluminum and steel to fabricate these systems.I have used a portable band saw, a mitre saw with a carbide blade (for aluminum) and/or abrasive chop saw (for steel) up until now to cut these materials. Many times we have to demo the existing storefront and it's a real job with a reciprocating saw. It eats blades and can be dangerous with the vibration and blade binding the saw creates. So when I ordered this I was very skeptical about the claims. I received it yesterday and tried it out, and it was unbelievable how fast and smooth it was cutting through a 1/4" x 2 1/2" cold steel bar. Took about 3 seconds. Then I cut a 2" x 2" x 1/4" steel tube with the same result. Needless to say I'm very impressed, virtually no shavings escape the collection bin, the steel was just slightly warm to the touch after cutting, and the edge was clean with no burrs or heat discoloration. I also cut a 2" x 4 1/2" x 1/8" aluminum tube with the same results. So my initial impression is very positive and if the blade lasts a reasonable amount of time then I will consider this a small price to pay for an excellently crafted tool. Like they say you have to have "the right tool for the job", and this seems to be that tool.I will repost after some usage with an answer on blade wear.

Wow. A fantastic saw at any price, and at this price a great deal. I had put off for years removing a steel, 3-story, wrap around fire escape from my house because I couldn't get any removal estimates under $2,000 and I couldn't get my head around exactly how I would bring the thing down myself. Among other logistics of one person removing a commercial fire escape, I was put off by the prospect of learning how to use an acetylene torch to make at least dozens of cuts, some of which while hanging off a ladder or a roof 30 feet in the air. So I finally put some research into this and came up with this saw. Over the last two weekends I took down most of the fire escape -- this saw cuts 1/4 inch steel like my circular saw cuts wood. As other reviews note, just go at a steady pace to let the blade do the work. It didn't solve the geometry and physics challenges involved in not killing myself, but it sure made the project possible, and the depth of cut available from the 8 inch blade made all the difference in getting around some awkward places. I've gone though 3 blades so far, which should tell you the work out I've given the saw already (and the blades actually last quite a while, considering they're shredding through metal without hesitation). It's a little heavy, but what do you expect from a work horse? It's pretty well balanced, easy to use, and you can cut one-handed if you're so inclined. Just bear in the mind how hard a power saw could kick if the blade binds or hits a hard spot. I chipped a couple of teeth (on the blade, not mine) here and there, but the blades held up really well. When they get dull it's a quick transition from cutting nicely to grinding and going nowhere. Blade changes involve several steps but it's an easy process with the included Allen wrench that stores on the body of the saw. The chip catcher does pick up a lot of the debris, but expect your work area to still be littered with plenty of chips. So now I've got probably well over 1,000 pounds of steel chopped up into manageable pieces waiting for salvage, thanks to this great saw.

This is the most amazing saw I have ever used, so far we have cut up to 3/4" plate and it doesn't feel or cut any different than if it were plywood. Your cut is smooth and only has a few burrs on the edge that come off with a light swipe with a knife or file. if you use a straight edge the cut almost as good as machined. This is the best tool I have ever used for metalworking and is a MUST HAVE for home use or even a small shop that does not have a shear. You almost have to use it yourself to believe it. I am sure the blade has a lot to do with it and I cannot comment on its life yet but it is worth every dollar compared to the cost of other methods. We will never use the Plasma cutter or thin cut off wheel again for cutting our small pcs to size for fabrication. HIGHLY recommended!
