that old clear round plastic handle is gone and this new handle makes my shower look great. I'd rather have a whole new valve without the pull on feature but to much demolition would have to happen to my shower to get that, so, this is the next best option.

I installed a new shower stall in place of the older shower stall and needed a newer handle and this one was the exact model for the Moentrol push pull cartridge 1225.

Simple, easy replacement for an older Moen Chateau Plastic shower valve handle. Works well. Metal handle with high shine chrome finish. Looks good. It has a logical plastic handle adapter with a stop limiter, so it sit solidly and works correctly. The design does scream "new" but it is neutral and does upgrade the original look by decades. A easy economical upgrade or fix.

Works great if you want to update your shower faucet without actually having to install a new one. I switched out my old style giant plastic knob shower pull for this handle and it was very easy to install. It doesn't fit completely flush to the base as the old handle did but it's fine, it still looks great, much better than what was there

Really like the look of this, it is a heavy metal handle so has a solid feel. For some reason I was hoping it would have a "lever" feature that would allow it to rotate a bit as you pulled it out to turn on the water like a kitchen type faucet would...it is fixed and you have to pull it straight out, makes it a bit less ergonomic to use but seems all other options for these legacy faucets are the same. Wished it could be found in brushed nickel finish without large expense.

Replaced 1980's plastic moentrol knob perfect. Came in a generic package, but was easy to install. Does not come with instructions though but for those familiar with kitchen and bath hardware, it is easy to install. Just because you've replaced the knob with this handle, it does not pull out easily like a kitchen fault. Still need to yank pretty hard using the base of this handle, and not the arm of the handle in order to turn the water on.

So this was a search for a cheaper price. What I got was a better product, metal NOT plastic, and a much better price! Very happy with this product. Price, solid, easy install and fit! 👍👍Don't be confused with this product tho, this doesn't turn a pull shower knob into a turn shower knob. So if you have to pull the handle to get water to flow, then turn to get water temp, you will have to do the same with this. It only replaces the handle not the internal mechanisms.But it looks great and up dates the shower.

I used this to replace my old builders-grade Moen handle in my 1978 condo after the plastic bit broke for the second time in a year. Easy to install and works a lot better than using pliers to change the water temperature. My only complaint is that it’s a little stiff and you have to pull it straight out to turn the water on, rather than having it be on a swivel joint (but thats probably just a feature of more expensive handles).

After reading many reviews, some questions were still not answered. So, I'll provide them.Yes, this works with the Moentrol (push/pull system)Yes, it is compatible with the 1225 cartridge.No, it is not too heavy!I replaced the cartridges in my Moentrol controls. A previous owner of the house had switched out the crystal knobs for an off-brand lever handle. It worked just fine with an old cartridge that wasn't well greased (and was hard to pull out). After replacing the cartridges, the handles were too heavy and fell to the 6 o'clock position and cold showers. We were concerned that the Moen 100224 handles 1. wouldn't fit and 2. would be too heavy and fall. A plumber even checked with someone and said they weren't compatible.We gambled and won. The handles are great. We also replaced the escutcheon (Moen part 16090) and tub stop tube (LASCO 03-1695). Everything looks great and works perfectly.For installation, there are no instructions, but it is fairly obvious what to do. Just note that when installing the handle onto the base of the handle (it comes in 2 parts), it needs to line up perfectly and may need to be adjusted a bit. Once it is lined up. the handle will go on smoothly. If you have any instability in the handle (wiggle), either the base or handle may not be screwed in tight enough. I didn't want to over tighten and the handle wiggled. I tightened the screws and it was stable.
