Shipping was poor. Box was smashed and open. One pin was loose in the bubble bag. Thankfully it was there as a hole was in one end of the package large enough to fit the pin through. Five shims are in the little packet. But the are larger diameter and do not fit without cutting. Of couse cutting causes bends so cut carefully.To be honest, most people won’t use the bushings unless you have access to a reemer.

I recently needed to replace the kingpins on my 1964 Ford F100. Amazon.com had the best price I could find online for this kit. Upon opening this kit, all of the parts appeared to be of high quality materials, well machined, and when I installed them, they were a direct fit with no modifications, and there is a noticeable improvement in the performance of my truck after installing them.Kingpin removal and installation can be challenging and labor intensive. I know many people will have this done by a shop, but I feel it can be accomplished by most recreational mechanics if you take your time and pay attention to detail. I prefer to do as much of my own auto maintenance as I can so I choose to do this myself. I used O'Reilly Auto's tool loan service to borrow a ball joint removal/installation kit and it was the perfect fit. My old kingpins were seized very badly but I was able to get them loose with the kit. To save time, you could remove your axle and have them pressed out by a shop, but I saved some money by doing it myself. The O'Reilly kit also worked perfectly for pressing the old bushings out of the spindles, and pressing the new ones in. The Moog kit includes the higher quality bronze bushings (vs the nylon bushings used in less expensive kits) so it is necessary to ream them before reassembly. Again this is something a shop can do for you, but I found a good price on a reamer and did this myself as well.Overall I was extremely satisfied with this kit, all of the components appeared to be of high quality and well made. Moog has a reputation for high quality and it is well earned. I also purchased the Moog tie rod ends and they were equally as well made and high quality. Again the kingpin removal/installation process can be pretty labor intensive for the home mechanic, but it can be done, and I would very highly recommend the use of the Moog kit. While I hope to never have to do another kingpin replacement, I will definitely select the Moog parts again if the need arises.
