Battery life sucks. Only last from 6-8 hours depending on how often you use to communicate. We purchased 2 sets of these. When first receiving it, I charged it all. We use it on road trips with multiple. It's not constantly being used, so when it started beeping due to low battery after only a few hours of use then we know the rest of the drive will have to used cellphones. This is for all 4 of the walkies, not just one.

Purchased these for a group motorhome trip in the Rockies. They worked very well at a reasonable distance. In the mountains I would not trust the advertised distance...Skip was encountered in built up areas.Good value for the cost so far.

Of all the devices similar, this took the cake because of pricing and bluetoothe capability. The other technology that requires a license (which is easy to get I hear) is supposedly more distance, but it turns out that this is just about as good. It's very attractive, a great little screen with great indicator lighting and information, nice usb c charger port, super easy buttons (but reading the instructions a must), the side buttons are super easy to use, very comfortable and intuitive for the hand. What a winner. The one thing hard to understand is why the bottom has such a small base. You can stand it up, but it has to be a nice flat surface, straight surface. Would be nice to have a big, flat base you could plunk down anywhere. But maybe there's a reason for the gap as well - maybe to hang on your pack? Haven't explored all the features - but use it often to communicate. Love it. Price was very good for what you get. Also nice is that the belt clip does not jut out very far, nice and flat. The antenna is very sturdy, all in all feels great in the hand and does the job much better than our other well known brand. LOVE that you can use lithium rechargeable included and AAs. Rechargeable AA lithiums could be used as well, just got some of those from EBL and so far, fantastic. With a little portable solar panel recharger, that would be pretty all-in-one. A+++ for sure! A full power recommend!

I'll deduct a star because one of the two radios won't receive weather broadcast. Other than that these are VERY capable little radios. Was able to make contact 5km away while sitting in my vehicle (which degrades your transmissions vs standing outside of the vehicle) across a city.The receiving radio was 20' off the ground. That is what is special about these radios. You can elevate them and use the app to control them through a phone or tablet via Bluetooth. No other less than 2w radio has worked 5km for me as consistent as these.Thinking the ability to elevate them and use Bluetooth to listen and transmit with your phone is the greatest advantage of these radios. Also the text messaging is a great feature although I'm not sure it is actually legal for use in Canada because it exceeds the duration allowed for data transmission on frs/gmrs in Canada.The scanning function is also great as it decodes privacy tones of other users. It does scan pretty slow though. About 6 seconds to scan all 22 channels.When you register for the app I suggest not adding your phone number as it will broadcast it as part of the message which is weird. I reinstalled the app and created a new account and didn't use my phone number the second time.All in all pretty solid radios. Battery life could be improved but it also takes AA batteries so you could probably buy AA rechargeable nimh batteries with a higher mah rating and just charge them in a separate charger. Might even charge in the radio but I don't know. Will try that and if it works I will edit this.

Took these hunting - while there are always issue with mountains and walkie-talkie communications these worked really well. At times we were miles apart and still were able to communication. We also were able to whisper and still could be heard.
