Worked great. Looked up a YouTube video to see how to use it and it worked just as they showed.

I got this to have on hand if ever I needed it at first it looked nothing like it did in the picture (rose gold instead of gold). Okay, I thought nothing of it at first. HUGE MISTAKE. When my mouthpiece got stuck in my trumpet so naturally I reached for the puller. There were no set of instructions that came with it so I had no idea how to use it and when I eventually did (thanks to YouTube) I came to discover that the part that’s supposed to attach to the trumpet doesn’t…Even…Grip. And to boot it scratched my brand new mouthpiece in a few places and to my brand new trumpet as well. This thing caused more damage to my instrument instead of fixing it. My mouthpiece is still stuck so I’ll be ordering an entirely different one and throwing this one where it belongs… in the trash. Steer clear of this one at all costs and invest a few more dollars into a good one!!!!

I had to use pliers to turn the screws as this does not generate enough force to pull a stuck mouthpiece with hand tightening. I couldn’t turn it enough by hand to make it pop off and I’m a big guy. Took 10 minutes. Another brand I lost a screw to worked in 10 seconds.

I needed a mouthpiece puller to work on different instruments and this one is completely adjustable.

I bought this mouthpiece puller to help a friend who had a very stuck mouthpiece. I received the trumpet early-October and tried all the usual techniques to remove the piece, no luck. I ordered the puller and received it within a reasonable time period. I assembled it on the trumpet and started to extract without much success. It was really stuck. I used several brands of oils, water, heat with cold on the mouthpiece. Nothing touched this problem. I let it soak in water for 2 weeks and then used lye internally to eat away at any organics, nothing. Finally, I said this was coming out no matter what. I broke 3 solder joints just turning the puller screws (the puller did NOT cause this damage, only me trying to secure the trumpet while adding a HUGE amount of upward force to the mouthpiece). I continued to turn the screws (to let you know that the puller never slipped off the insertion point on the trumpet, as I was sure it would break with this much pressure). No, I turned the screws at least 3 full turns while applying a propane flame to the insertion point (not recommended unless you plan to refinish the trumpet). Now, POP and the mouthpiece shot across the room like a bullet and hit the wall. IT WAS OUT!! I hope I never have to do this again with any other trumpet but know this little Mouthpiece puller can do the job.BTW, I resouldered the trumpet joints and gave it back to my friend on his 84th birthday.
