This light works great. The movement of the lights is smooth and creates a really nice and engaging light show that looks really good whether controlled to move slowly and fluidly or "jumpy". The colors look excellent in a darkened environment and were vibrant and popped.

In the box: Comes well packaged in a thick box with foam inserts, which will serve as storage and protection for transporting it. Comes with a mount, but it is basic and will not suit every application. No remote. Included instructions are terrible, they are incomplete, very little information, and translated from another language. There is information available online.Operation: This unit is not for home use, it's very bright and will work best mounted on a wall or ceiling. Out of the box it is set to auto mode, unit will calibrate when you first plug it in, then begin to operate in auto mode. There is no on/off switch, it turns on when plugged in. Auto mode has a wide variety of effects, spinning, strobe, rgb. Machine is whisper quiet, and rotation of top unit and individual light bars is very, very smooth. The only other option out of the box to use is the "sound" setting, which is pretty damned amazing - tested with 6 different songs, different rhythms, speeds and beat, and volume - lights does a great job of synching to the beat. When it's silent, lights stop. There is a sensitivity setting that can be adjusted too. Menu buttons are very small, hard to see and reach. Unit has to be unplugged and then plugged back in to change settings manually unless you want to blind yourself. Digital screen is small, relatively clear, but will be upside down if unit is mounted on ceiling. For programming: Unit supports DMX and to get the most out of the unit that's how it should be used. There is no remote available for unit and that would leave only the choice of auto/sound as when it's mounted adjustment buttons will be hard to reach. Only way to turn strobe off is with DMX (or taping it). There is an SSL file available online, easy google search. Lights can be controlled with a sound/light board giving it a much greater range of effects and more individual control. Again there is no included documentation included beyond auto/sound option. The seller is assuming those who purchase this are already familiar with this type of lighting system. No DMX cables included.Overall build seems solid, whisper quiet, very smooth transitions and operation, lights are very bright, has a solid weight to it, built in fan, very responsive to sound. It's a very nice unit - greatest shortcoming is the lack of included documentation for it's operation.
